Even though this experience was in 2024, I still remember & shutter at the thought of this place. I was in here for 1 month for wound care. Was told from nurses that cleaning my wounds every other day were to time consuming. They changed couple of my doctors w/out telling me because my insurance wasn't going to pay for 2 of the same doctors. The place may look good in pictures but this is nothing but another nursing home! Had couple of anxiety attacks while in there & went to my hospital. If it wasn't for my family visiting every day & being my advocate, I wouldn't know how I could be there for 1 month. If you care about your loved one, DON'T put them here! They won't be treated with care.
Looks can be very DECEIVING, when you first walk into Future Care the building is immaculate, everything is in order, everyone is greeting you as they should and everyone seems to be doing their jobs. Perception is everything but most of it is deception and lies because I'm a resident and live with the awful truth EVERYDAY. If they treated us residents as well as they take care of the interior and exterior of the building this facility would be great. My health has extremely declined since I've been at Future Care. I don't get any rehab, I only get ROM from OT/PT, I don't get to see any specialty doctors consistently for my diagnosis, I don't get dental care, consistent mental therapy, they don't even get me out the bed which is ludicrous and they cover it by saying that I refuse to get up, which is a lie and far from the truth. I would love to get out of bed every day, because it promotes good health and allows me to thrive and get better and closer to getting out of this hell hole. Not getting me out of bed only promotes laziness, depression, health issues, muscle weakness, lack of social and emotional connections, muscle atrophy, poor circulation and that's undesirable for me and doesn't work towards any of my goals. The facility is well aware of these issues from the director Zachary even down to Kelly the ombudsman, but no one seems to care enough because NOTHING has been done to rectify the situation. I have young children, and my goal is to get better and stronger because they need me in their lives, not just lying in the bed and do nothing, with no motivation. My children are 22, 18, 16,13 and 9 they live out of state which breaks my heart because I desire to see them every day, but I can't because I was thrown in future care and evicted from my home by a family member that never cared to even look back. Before I was put in Future Care I was diagnosed with sarcoidosis in 2019, but I was still able to take care of myself, I just had mobility issues. I had my own place, 3 of my children were living with me, I was able to walk with a rollator, I was taking my medications affectively myself, I was doing my own finger sticks before every meal, I was administering my own insulin, I had a nurse coming every day to assist me, I had OT/PT every week and any and every supplies i needed was available to me. I was able to use the bathroom do my ADL'S, cook for myself and so much more. Thank God I'm a Veteran because the VA provided all this for me with no hesitation. But I have to fight for my rights and for services I'm supposed to get at Future Care. Below you will see pics of when I was home taking care of myself with my children, a pic of my rollator, all my medications, my walker, my son is sitting on my bed side commode all provided by the VA. Be very vigilant when choosing a place for your loved one because looks can be deceiving.
Yes, it's me again and I don't know where all these 5star reviews come from but maybe they have gotten a better experience. As for me my experience as a resident deserves no stars, I'm still talking about the food because some of these meals I wonder how they come up with them. I used to work for Kidz Table so I'm very familiar with the food industry, food requirements and information. As a diabetic I need a hefty dinner to hold me throughout the night, so my sugar won't drop because sometimes I don't get a snack. Example: I got a salad for dinner and woke up around 2am hungry as hell and there weren't any snacks in the nourishment room. This has been an ongoing issue the 5 years I've been here, once the kitchen is closed your SOL and that's why I've provided my own snacks and cabinet [to lock them up from thieves] because this place is unreliable. They give us 100% apple juice, but we get cranberry flavored juice cocktail only pertaining 15% juice, that's unhealthy and seems like the cheap way is the only way, that's very concerning for me. The meat is hard to distinguish and identify, you get pink turkey meat which I don't understand because I don't eat pork. The sausage patties are supposed to be turkey as well, but they don't taste like any turkey I've ever tasted. As a diabetic I get ice cream with artificial flavoring added to it, but Hershey's is 100% which is a big issue for me because my wellbeing is at stake. The way I eat and the way I'm taking care of health wise is a BIG deal to me and Future Care falls short of that each and every day. They take advantage of the fact that family will throw you in here and never look back. You won't get ANY Care until sometime in the Future, I've been here for 5 years, and nothing has changed. The first 3 years I was kept on chemical restraints and the next couple of years I've been getting better and fighting for my life because no one deserves to be treated this way. They take advantage when families leave you in here and never look back, you definitely won't get Care until sometime in the Future and they certainly live up to their name. FUTURE CARE/BEWARE
I was sent to Future Care in Irvington for rehab. As anyone would be I was very skeptical on what kind of care I would receive. 1st. The facility and outside were immaculate. Plenty of parking, easy access ramps, Super clean hallways and common areas. Beautiful Lobby area to sit and relax. A beautiful aquarium is in the Lobby as well. Leading to my room was a long enclosed hallway with windows to be able to see some of the outside grounds. To the right was Physical therapy room. You can see that they take rehab very seriously. Many types of machines, chairs, exercise equipment, steps to walk up & down, etc. Getting to my room, I was pleasantly surprised to see how clean it was. 2nd. The staff was very friendly from housekeeping techs, Nurse's helpers, Nurses themselves(shout out to Richard & Barnabas), the Doctor too,
were excellent. I also received excellent care in Kidney Dialysis. I visited and had therapy there 2 times. That group worked like a well oiled machine. Always attentive to your needs.
3rd. Physical therapy was challenging. Mo & Patricia, as well as others, work to get your goals met. Whew! Some intense sessions but worth every minute. Some great advise given for after leaving the facility.
I was there for 7 days. I'm very Pleased with the care that I received." Hats off" and a heart felt THANK YOU to a team that took very best care. Have a wonderful Day!!😄😄
I recently visited a friend at FutureCare Irvington. They aim to please. There are reserved visitor parking spaces directly in front of the building. There is also a low-inclined access ramp at the front door. In fact similar access ramps are available throughout the building. The facility is so inviting and clean. Each area I passed through was clean and client friendly.
Staff were friendly, professional and busy at work. Services were given with smiles. Staff are very helpful.
I was very happy because my friend was happy. I enjoyed my visit with her. I like FutureCare Irvington and rate it 5 out of 5.
