The caregivers are not only skilled but also compassionate—they go above and beyond to make sure every need is met. My Mom felt safe and cared for. The nurses MariLuz and Jack wrote an outstanding care plan for my mother who has dementia. It was a care plan which represented exactly what my mother needs. It is critical, however, to insist on finding a caregiver that has good communication skills. Not every aide is prepared to communicate effectively with a patient who exhibits the anxiety and confusion that come with dementia. If you aren't satisfied with the caregiver-patient relationship, don't wait very long to see if things will improve. When you decide that it's not a good fit, tell the agency immediately. Try another aide. Keep trying until you find the right person!
