My mother is near death because the agency nurse who took care of her last night did not step into her room ONCE to check in on her. She received no insulin nor did she receive her nebulizer treatments. She just got back from a 2 week stay at hospital from lack of supervision from aspiration causing her to vomit. Now she is there again not even 48 hours later. THE ONLY THING I APPRECIATE ARE THE DEDICATED NURSES WHO KNOW MY MOM, TAKE CARE OF HER, AND DO THEIR BEST WHENEVER THEY ARE WITH HER. THEY KNOW EXACTLY WHO THEY ARE AND I THANK YOU FOR DOING YOUR PART, I APOLOGIZE FOR ALL THE STRUGGLE YOU ALL GO THROUGH WITH NO SUPPORT FROM THE PLACE YOU WORK AND THE PLACE MY MOTHER STAYS. Everytime the Agency sends random people to take care of my mother, something negative always happens. All the good nurses are there with NO SUPPORT with CONFUSED EMPLOYEES they have to waste time to teach WHEN THEY SHOULD KNOW THE BASICS OF THEIR JOB. That takes all the good nurses away from getting the job done for not just for my mom, but the rest of the patients too. My mother has been there for 3 years and I am done staying queit about my concerns. It is hard to speak to directors, social workers, or anybody important to help us. Any health plans made for my mom or 3 month meetings are always held without us when we always ask to be involved and seem to never be consistantly followed. There have been SO MANY disappointments that outweigh the possible care and support she COULD be receiving if EVERYONE was on the same page. BUT NOBODY COMMUNICATES, NOT EVERYONE DOCUMENTS EVERYTHING, and MY MOMS LIFE IS IN GODS HANDS at this point. Something has got to give to make sure good nurses get the help they need to support the patients. Especially bed bound patients who cannot do anything for themselves.... they need to respect families who are involved, because trust and believe, this was the WRONG family to mess with. As humble and respectful as we have been for 3 years, we are truly outraged. All we asked for is help and cooperation. It can't just happen once in a blue moon. This profession is hard, but there's no excuse for not doing the right thing when my family always stays 2 steps ahead. They have no urgency until something goes wrong and that NEVER sat right with me. We catch things before it happens because WE KNOW MY MOTHER BEST. I am so furious, disappointed, upset, hurt, and GRIEVING because MY MOM IS SUFFERING FROM NEGLECT. Theres no other way to say the truth. This place has truly failed this beautiful family of ours..... how could you fail us like this... after everything we do to cooperate every single day.... If it were my choice. My mother would be home. But she ended up in a nursing home. And she has suffered soooooo much more than she has been at peace..... that is not fair for this beautiful soul that is ONLY trying to survive. I cannot believe I have to write A Review to try to make a change... if not for my family, for others too.... This is a very sad situation I wish was better. But nobody wants to make this better for my family. Nobody wants to make my mothers journey better for her..... that's how it feels everytime something goes wrong. Nothing would go wrong if everyone was on the same page. 💯

My uncle stayed to rehab at this facility and the nurses and care aides were very kind. The communication to get through to any staff during the day is terrible! The phone would ring and ring and then when I did get through the person would disconnect me. This happened during the day and there was no communication other than my uncle telling me when he was going home. I was there often to inquire and always told they would be calling me. He was there 3 weeks and not one phone call.

I am delighted to acknowledge and give thanks for the wonderful treatment and the wonderful hospitality that I received during my rehabilitation from knee surgery at this facility. The administration Brielle, and Chalimar, The cna's Sue, AV,Monica ,and others, The PA Caitlin, The nurses Tracy, Sharee, Jackie, and others, And the whole PT staff Rick, Sarah, Jennifer, Shelby, Chris, and others, were all very professional, kind, and benevolent to me during my stay. The facility was very clean and well maintained. All my needs were met and I was treated with respect, kindness, and professional treatment from all of the team members that I encountered. The professional staff helped to make my rehabilitation go pleasantly well.

My Mom was at Chestnut Hill for 6 months. She spent the first half of her stay on the rehab side. The CNA’s performed their job well. Desi was great with my Mom. My Mom had dementia and she was not the easiest person to deal with. Mostly when it came to getting her in and out of bed. I always found my Mom cleaned and cared for. When she was moved to the long term side of the building the staff was again very caring. Gwen one of the CNA’s is a no mess around type of gal. Just what my Mom needed as I stated she could be difficult when receiving the necessary care. Darcy the nurse I dealt with the most answered my questions professionally and always asked me if my Mom was comfortable. As the end of life approached the team worked well with hospice and my Mom was kept comfortable the last couple weeks. The hospice team that comes into Chestnut Hill was top notch. Brielle from customer care was ALWAYS there to answer questions. If I left a message she was prompt to return my phone call. I had many visits to Carmela the business manager and she was also very understanding and worked with me to get some of the bills care for my Mom dismissed as we didn’t need it due to my Mom being on hospice and end of life protocol. This building is not the shiniest and prettiest but the bathrooms were always clean and the common area the residents hung around in was tidy and clean. The food must have been good because my Mom ate well the first 5 months she was there. My Mom did not receive any rehab treatment so I can’t speak to that part of the facility. If you have questions or concerns you need to speak up and ask. The staff always took the time to talk to me if I talked to them and asked questions. Yes, people sit around in wheelchairs a good part of the day. I was glad to see my Mom up and out of bed. She was blind and couldn’t walk anymore so that was the way it was for her. If she wanted to lay down they would put her back in bed.

My recent experience with Chestnut Hill of East Longmeadow was MORE than positive because EVERYONE at the facility provided the utmost in compassionate, first-rate customer service. My 91-year-old mother received outstanding, end-of-life care which ensured her personal comfort while attending to her various medical needs. At the same time, as her sole family/personal caregiver, I was in constant contact with various Chestnut Hill personnel whenever any health-related issues came to pass. Although the last month of her life was understandably stressful, the entire staff of Chestnut Hill (both medical and administrative) provided much-needed and much-appreciated support to both me and my late mother. I'd like to express personal "thank-yous" to Kaitlyn (Physician's Assistant), Emily (Nurse), Stephanie (Nurse), Brielle (Guest Services Manager), and Carmela (Business Office) for addressing my seemingly-endless list of questions and concerns. If you and/or any of your loved ones is in need of the services of a healthcare facility, I would wholeheartedly recommend Chestnut Hill of East Longmeadow ... Phil Benoit Springfield, MA
