I am so grateful for Prairie Gate. When looking for a facility for my grandmother to live, I felt overwhelmed. How do you choose the right place? Megan was exceptional in answering questions, and explaining the details. My grandmother lived at Prairie Gate for almost two years, and they did a fantastic job caring for her. The facility is clean, well maintained, and beautiful. We held several family get togethers there, and they were always welcoming and accommodating. The staff was knowledgeable, patient, and communicated often. I felt they truly cared about my grandmother, and treated with her dignity, and respect. I would highly recommend Prairie Gate for a loved one.

The staff is always so friendly. It is a beautiful property, my Mom has lived there since it opened. Her apartment is beautiful and maintenance is always so great to help her when needed as is everyone else. She recently needed rehab and it was nice to have the ability to have her leave the hospital right to Prairie Gate for her rehabilitation and then just walk over to her apartment when it was completed. Now both OT and PT are able to come to her apartment so she doesn't have to leave to go to appointments. Every resident I've met there are very pleasant too. I would highly recommend Prairie Gate.

I became my sibling’s court appointed guardian/conservator upon the passing of her spouse/caregiver 17 months ago. I knew nothing about the Council Bluffs/Omaha area, let alone LTC options, given I reside outside IA but did know I would be managing her care in most instances remotely. I spent many nights worrying, in tears, and researching options. I felt sadness and frustration when hearing the words “waiting list” after making many calls/visits. But when I visited Prairie Gate, I knew it was the right spot and fortunately, the timing was right for us. I can honestly say that all staff - admin, care and support - treated my sibling with respect, dignity, patience, and kindness and with compassion, empathy and concern for her as a human being. Staff regularly communicated issues/concerns and we collaborated together for options regarding her needs. With this review I’m not implying everything was perfect but I’m not perfect either for we all are human beings. I’m forever grateful that my sibling spent many days smiling, enjoying crafts, eating well, and receiving wonderful wellness care thru her final days on this earth. I’m forever grateful to the Prairie Gate team for being there for her as she passed with dignity and peace.

I called to inquire about possible long term care for my mother. Megan was very abrupt, disinterested in helping, and unkind. Finding care for someone you love whom is on hospice is difficult, but to call a facility and have the admissions person state that they "do not have time to answer questions because they were working on a project" was very disheartening. She then proceeded to say I could go on a wait list. How does one know if this is a facility to place a loved one if they do not even have time to answer a questions about care? It was a very upsetting experience and hope this does not reflect the type of services that are provided for loved ones in this facility.
