How families pay for senior living in Nebraska
Most families in Nebraska cover the cost of assisted living, memory care or independent living with their own savings and income, often supplemented by proceeds from selling a family home. Some have long-term care insurance policies that can be tapped to help offset monthly fees, and it is worth reviewing any such policy early to understand what it covers and for how long. Veterans and surviving spouses may also qualify for VA Aid and Attendance, a benefit that can help pay for the cost of care for those who meet the eligibility requirements.

About these figures
Computed on October 6, 2026 from the 102 communities listed in Omaha, 3,565 public family reviews on Google, Yelp and MyLivingChoice, state licensing records and, for nursing homes, CMS Care Compare. The best-rated list ranks communities by average family rating weighted by how many families have reviewed each one, so a 4.9 from three reviews does not outrank a 4.7 from two hundred. No community pays to appear in the best-rated list or in these figures; sponsored and partner listings in the directory results are marked as such.
