My father of 91 years age took ill which required he spend his final days in a nursing facility. I was sad for him at first since he really enjoyed living in his own home. But then my dad, me, and my other relatives soon noticed just how terrific and helpful the staff is at Northcrest. They are all kindhearted, caring people and very patient with the needs of the elderly. I am a hospice nurse myself and have been involved with many nursing facilities and this is the best. The rooms are very comfortable and always clean, the food is very good (big shout-out to the chefs and kitchen crew), and as I said, the staff could not be more thoughtful, efficient, and caring. If I could give it 6 stars I would. Highly recommended. - Addition to above review - When I stated above that the staff at Northcrest are patient with the elderly, please allow me to provide a couple of examples. Back in the day...and even in present day...my dad was an electronics guru having been trained in that field for four years in the Navy and then using that experience with Pacific Bell for many years in his post military carrer. Fast forward to his final days at Northcrest when they so graciously provided a large digit clock to help him with the confusion he was experiencing regarding his perception of days of the week and hours of the day. In his perfectionistic (in a good way) electronics mindset, the clock needed to be placed in a very precise spot to satisfy his concerns. The staff VERY patiently worked with him for nearly a week attempting to meet his needs. They did so perfectly, so patiently, and without complaint. I had another example I was going to give but this post has gone on long enough. Suffice it to say that I doubt you will find a more caring, kindhearted staff anywhere in Council Bluffs, or beyond. Such great people.
