The physical therapists and nurses were wonderful to my father. My complaint is with the administrative staff who stupidly discharged my father before he was strong enough to go home. I pleaded with them to keep my father longer so he could at least walk with the aid of a walker. I told them that another potentially catastrophic fall was inevitable should they discharge him. A day later my prediction came true. He fell on the bathroom floor when I was home with him. He had a large gash and a day later he had hip surgery. Today he is resting uncomfortably at Meriter Hospital. Yesterday, I had a conversation with an independent physical therapist in Madison who told me that Oakwood Rehabilitation had a history of releasing patients before they were ready to go home. This will not happen to my father again. When my father is transferred to his next rehabilitation facility, my instructions to the doctors and caseworkers at the hospital will be to transfer him anywhere but Oakwood. Kudos to the therapists and nurses who took great care of my father. Thumbs down to the clowns who thought he was ready to go home. My father is suffering today because of your negligence.

My dad had a brief stay here when he was at the end-stage of his cancer battle. The staff were absolutely fantastic and so caring. The day before dad died, a staff member saw me crying in the hallway and gave me a great big hug. On the day of dad’s passing, the staff went above and beyond to comfort me and my sister. They also cleaned him up so nicely right after he passed. He looked so clean and handsome. They let us take our time with him to just sit with him and say goodbye. The staff here really makes this place.

3 weeks before this review, my mom entered Oakwood due to declining health and entered hospice care at that time. I read these reviews before bringing her to Oakwood and had some concern over them. I lost my mom a couple of days ago but have to share what a great experience my family (and mom) had at Oakwood. She received fantastic care! We were watching, checking and paid attention to every aspect of her care - it was wonderful. I highly recommend Oakwood! Great care, clean facilities and good people there!
