The past two years at Oakmont have been beautiful. My parents, both over 90, came to Oakmont after twin health catastrophies took them out of their home. After a couple of bumpy months, my parents healed enough to recognize they were where they needed to be, and grew to love their new living situation. The entire staff - food service, laundry and housekeeping, medtechs, admins, literally everyone working there - are patient, kind and always ready to help. We are so sad to be leaving, but we needed to relocate to be closer to family. Dad already misses the fresh cookies! Thank you, Oakmont of Fullerton, for embracing my parents and taking such good care of all of us. We miss you! You'll always be in our hearts and prayers.

I was looking for a place closer to home than his current assisted living facility because in a little over two months my husband had been in the hospital and skilled nursing 3 times, and it was taking a toll on me. I had input his issues and various facilities contacted me confirming I that it was assisted living that we needed. Pricilla Prera of Oakmont of Fullerton contacted me and told me that it was Memory Care and Hospice. Pricilla’s expertise and intuition proved to be beyond the usual marketing, proposing what would be returning to the world of living with the needed comprehensive level of support. My husband came to Oakmont of Fullerton with an oxygen tank, just like he had at two hospitals and two skilled nursing facilities. He usually spent days deeply sleeping causing even a return to the hospital. Oakmont of Fullerton Memory Care staff knew what to do to help him enjoy life no longer needing oxygen or full daytime sleeping from day 1. Hospice here is not about lethargically waiting to die. The staff is outstanding –the director Ben-Hur Santos, activities staff, meds room nurses and staff, all the caregiving staff who are with the residents throughout the day, and housekeeping staff who keep his room clean and fresh. I can see the compassion and patience they show to everyone. The staff is attentive to his needs and take the initiative to take him to the toilet throughout the day. He doesn’t miss meals because he is taken to meals. He is encouraged to participate in activities completing artwork, answering questions, reading out load to others, singing, etc. He is proud that he can correctly answer quiz questions or make and draw things, even flower arrangements for the table. Staff encourage him to flourish and enjoy living at Oakmont. He is going to have problems with his dementia and multiple physical conditions. He has had several falls because he can’t be chained to his wheelchair or bed. But the staff as always problem solves and changed the location of his bed, for example. For his blood sugars, there is constant monitoring, needed adjustments to medications, and adjustments for eating based on his actual numbers. This staff is engaged, takes the initiative to make his life better, is so hardworking, and treats residents with smiles, encouraging words, or kind pats on the shoulder. Memory Care/Hospice is the option that we took and is without regrets, especially after seeing the positive outcomes provided by the excellent Oakmont of Fullerton staff, community, and environment. The entire staff, both Memory Care and Assisted Living, has been welcoming and outstanding. And only from Pricilla representing Oakmont of Fullerton did I hear the truth of what my husband truly needed for his care.

I just wanted to share my personal experience because the care here truly deserves recognition. Knowing my loved one is at Oakmont gives me so much peace of mind. The care department has been nothing short of amazing. The Health Services Director Jhoana and RCC Maria have always gone above and beyond. They are attentive, compassionate, and truly take the time to make sure residents are cared for the right way. You can tell they genuinely care, and that means everything to families like mine. The hospitality here is also incredible. The front desk, culinary, and care staff  are so warm and welcoming. I’m very grateful for the level of care and support my family has received here.

Oakmont is a wonderful and caring luxury senior living facility. The staff there take amazing care of all the residents. I’d like to call out Chris O., Mike M., Joanna, Oscar, Lupe, Osiris, Barbara and I could go on. The people there give 110% of themselves everyday. Thank you all for making my dad comfortable and going above and beyond. The folks at Oakmont are creative and my dads dog Tommy wrote a letter to the residents. All the residents loved the new celebrity in the facility. Just a top notch group of caring and loving people. I also have to call out the residents. Stu, Margaret, Linda, Bill (and his cat), James and many more again were so welcoming. Sign me up! I’m ready to retire here now! Thank you all for being there for my dad.

Oakmont staff especially Jessica R.(front desk secretary), Johanna (medical technician nurse), and Chris (sales) they have been there since before my parents made the transition to independent living to assisted living. Upon just checking out the location Chris was very welcoming and super sweet and patient with my parents. On mornings they'd go down for meals they'd stop and say good morning to both Chris and Jessica as they both enjoy talking with them and seeing how they are doing. Being I am the only local family around they have helped me tremendously with tasks and helping me and my parents adjust to a different way of living. I work a lot and also trying to repair their home. So I just couldn't balance caring for them and getting work done. My parents absolutely love these 3 people. They were sad when the executive director left (Lindsey). And since then things have been a little wonk of adjusting to the new schedules and options available to do while there. They have a amazing staff member there that help with events and ensuring my parents know and participate. My parents were very antisocial since even before 2020. Probably cause a lot of their friends and family moved away. This location brought them out of their shell and made them healthier and more active. For me it's a super helpful and informative of events and any important things that I should be informed on. It's the staff that makes the place a amazing place. Makes the location unique and special not just like a typical place. Hoping the corporate office doesn't change things and force or make their staff leave based on treatment and lack of staffing as a result.
