About O'neill Healthcare Bay Village

O'Neill Healthcare Bay Village is a skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Bay Village, Ohio, with a licensed capacity of 138 residents. The community serves patients requiring nursing care and extended residential support.

Reviews reflect a deeply divided experience. Families of residents who received consistent, attentive care describe staff members, including nurses Claudia B. and Celeste, as compassionate and dignified in their work, with clean rooms and responsive attention. However, a substantial number of families report serious gaps in basic care: missed showers and meals, long wait times when residents use call buttons, inadequate skin care leading to preventable wounds and bed sores, fall injuries, and medication errors. Some families attribute these lapses to understaffing on nights and weekends. One family wrote, "The fact that they are understaffed is not an excuse to provide terrible care." Concerns about unattended residents and delayed response times appear repeatedly across reviews.

O'Neill Healthcare Bay Village holds a 3.9/5 rating across 73 Google reviews. The stark contrast between five-star and one-star accounts suggests highly variable day-to-day experiences, with families emphasizing the importance of frequent, direct monitoring of their loved ones' care.

It was a filthy nightmare in every way. I was almost totally neglected after surgery. After my 2nd surgery, I switched to Middleburg Hts., and the contrast was like going from Hell to heaven. It was so bad in there, it was like unreal, like being in a scary movie.

I was very impressed with O’Neill Healthcare! The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive—they truly go above and beyond to make everyone feel cared for and comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the surroundings are warm, inviting, and well-maintained. It’s clear that the team takes great pride in creating a welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike. Highly recommend!

Our family was very disappointed with the care received at O’Neils. This facility consistency has staffing shortages on the off shifts and weekends with repeatedly witnessed lack of care and residents being unattended for hours on end. It was not uncommon for call lights to be on for over an hour without staff checking in. The staff that you are lucky to find during these times are mostly from an agency and lacked awareness on the personal basic care needs of our family member.. The facility looks very clean and well maintained from the outside and at the entrance area but the halls, rooms and restrooms where their residents live are not kept cleaned or maintained. I would NOT recommend placing a loved one at O’Neils
