I’m going to start by saying I do understand the staff is probably overwhelmed nursing homes do not get the the support they need. I have a few cons about this place one of them being is my dad was sent there for rehab rehabilitation and when he was sent home, they did not help at all with setting up at home rehab rehabilitation for physical therapy. They did not advise me on anything to do to help him get better. They basically shood us out the door without any idea on what to do next, no Referrals no refill of any medications that they were giving him. He was there for three months. His insurance ran out after two and he was not allowed to get any more physical therapy, but they still kept him He laid in the bed, but no physical therapy. My second con. He was sent home with scabies that he had all over his body and he was not treated for it. It took me and his family doctor months to get rid of it. My third con. Not a single piece of clothing that he was sent there with was returned, even though I had taken the time to write his name on all of them. And he’d be wearing women’s pants 3x to big. Maybe it’s because there is Too high of a patient to aid ratio. Why allow somebody who is there for physical therapy to lay in a bed with scabies with no physical therapy? They did nothing to Rehab rehabilitation him. He came home worse than he was when he was dropped off there. Covered in scabies head to toe he had lost all his muscle in his legs because they had a allowed him to lay in the bed for a month straight. If you can help it, I wouldn’t send your family here.

I am so grateful to the staff at O’Brien’s. From admission to custodial staff to aides to nursing, therapy, administration, dietary, social work, and the medical director, my mother received wonderful care. Staff was responsive and loving. Communication was consistent and reliable. The facility was spotlessly clean. Nobody ever wants to have to use a nursing home, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend O’Brien’s.

My aunt was a patient here and the experience for our family could not have been worse. We were not able to get support for what was in my aunt's best interest - instead, we were directed down a path controlled by the facility. After falling for a second time, the facility initially denied that there was a fall, then admitted that there was, but refused to send her to the hospital for assessment.....claiming instead that they would perform the assessment. We finally asked for her discharge, just to get her out of the care of this facility.

The terrific staff at O'Brien took care of both of my parents and we are so thankful for the outstanding care they received. O'Brien has both a great medical staff and a great support staff who work together and in the best interest of the patient. The medical team coordinated and worked well with our hospice providers. The support staff in housekeeping and laundry are part of the care team in checking in and forming relationships with patients. I have too many people to thank at O'Brien, my family is truly grateful to everyone there, we couldn't have been more pleased. (Some of those great people in the South Wing are Maria, Tracy, Kayla, Greg, Dana, Lori, Kyle, Brenda, Juan, Ralph and so many others who showed such kindness to our family).

A family member of mine is in this facility and they are very well taken care of. The care and compassion demonstrated by the staff goes above and beyond expected. Their food is amazing, everything is sterile/clean. I highly recommend O'Briens Memorial as a place to trust for the care or rehab of a loved one.
