My mother in law was at NHC Bluffton for a short period of time and received excellent care. Staff was very friendly and attentive to her needs. Would recommend NHC.

One star is generous, this facility is extremely understaffed and sub par. Basic needs like wiping a person’s face after a meal, changing clothes daily, and proper hygiene are not being met. These are the things that I can prove. More egregious problems are highly suspected.

I do not recommend this facility for your loved one's care. While several of the nurses and therapy team have been nice and helpful that's where it ends. Attentiveness to my loved ones basic needs are not being met as discussed. The room and bathroom hasn't been cleaned in a week. Very dissapointed that the elderly are being treated this way.

The place is decent. Considering the scarcity of Medicaid beds nationwide, this is a blessing. She has been well-cared for and has been here for 1.5 years. The memory care facility has been vigilant in monitoring her. Although she is not particularly social, she enjoys going out to eat with the group and even dances.

Filthy. Unskilled and very short staffed. A couple of the ladies and the head nurse Della were very nice and caring but the rest…. My mom came in there with maybe 20 different clothing options. After 9 months most of it disappeared. She ended up with other peoples clothing. She was unable at the end to drink by herself and it didn’t seem as though anyone was helping her. Every day, as soon as walked into her room, she cried “thirsty” and drank 2 large cups. One day it smelled like poop so I asked someone to change her. They had her on her side and said no poop but she had a big hemorrhoid. I looked closer and it WAS NOT a hemorrhoid, it was a big poop stuck in her rectum. Really? Can’t make this stuff up!
