We feel truly fortunate to have found Mount Carmel Assisted Living for our 97-year-old mother. After residing in an independent living facility for about six years Mom had a serious fall and broke her femur just above the knee. It’s not hard to imagine the pain a traumatic and discomfort this caused her. She was in very dire shape, but mentally still sharp and lucid. Although the transition to assisted living was an exceedingly difficult one for Mom and compounded by Covid restrictions. This overall state made it paramount that we find a place that provides vigilante care from a patient staff. Sometimes a person just comes across so authentically that it elicits a strong sense of trust and instills a degree of faith that they are who they say they are, and they do what they say they will. This is the feeling we had from the first meeting with the owners, Richard and Elizabeth Willey. They, along with their staff are extremely kind, loving and understanding making everything as comfortable and pleasant as possible for our whole family. The home is quite lovely inside and out with patio and outdoor access to each room. It has a family atmosphere as well as individualized care. The tour and description of services proved to be accurate – as billed. As soon as we met with Richard, we felt confident that this would be a good place for Mom. He and Elizabeth are the real deal. Mom passed away while in their care. They could not have been more supportive, understanding, and compassionate in their handling of the entire process. Jackie and Gary hicks
