Stay away from Meadowbrook Manor in La Grange if you have other options.

I personally witnessed severe understaffing, unanswered call buttons, and residents left waiting for help for extended periods. My mother was left sitting in soiled clothing, developed bed sores, and was once left in a chair for over four hours without food or proper care. The front desk rarely answered the phone, forcing my mother to call me directly when she needed assistance.

I also observed poor food quality, watered-down juice, and inadequate attention to residents’ nutritional needs. My mother became severely malnourished during her stay. I witnessed a lack of care not only toward my mother but toward several other residents as well.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend this facility to anyone seeking quality care for a loved one.

Meadowbrook Manor is a facility that does short term rehab and long term residents. From what I have seen with my own eyes is that people who can walk and are there for short term rehab will do fine but long term residents don't do even ok. The third floor is always short staffed and therefore the employees are overworked. The residents don't have phones in their rooms like thr temporary people on the 1st and 2nd floors.
If the resident doesn't have a cell phone, forget about talking to them on the phone because the excuses are endless as to why you can't talk to them and you are lucky enough to hear those excuses ONLY f the nurses dein to stoop so low as to answer the phone. Don't bother to call the administrators to complain (or for any othef reason) as they don't answer their phones or bother to return a call if you leave a message. The facility boasts about the quality of the care they give and how they are family owned. Check out their business registration with the state and the ratings from IDPH amd Medicare. Don't believe the marlarky Meadowbrook talks.

Update: I have never bothered to call the administrator like Meadowbrook asked me to as I left messages for the administrator asking for a return call but the administrator NEVER returned even one call and this was BEFORE I left my review. Why would the administrator bother to answer my call or return a call now?

My husband has been a patient at MBM La Grange for almost 3 years. The activities and staff a great! Gina and Cynthia in the front are super kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. Cheryl is always helpful and kind. Rhonda in the business always offers a helping hand. I am grateful for the care my husband receives and would recommend this facility.

Nurses, therapists and staff were the best. Very caring. Knew what approach the patient needed and were able to get very good results. Thank you.

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. Staff is horrible, no one returns calls, they don’t attend to your loved ones, stuff laughs at patients. No one has answers, never a Dr to talk too. No one is on the same page. Not enough stuff to care for patients. I can’t imagine the patients that can’t Advocate for themselves how they treat them
