The quality here is horrifyingly bad. The fridge is currently 43 degrees right in the danger zone. Trash and food on the floor, over 6 employees walked directly over the mess and nobody even considered cleaning the area. Please don't take your parents or grandparents here if you even remotely like them

My father returned to the facility in May 2025 in palliative care And had I known -what I saw would have happened-I would never have put him there. While we had a good experience when he was there before- THIS experience was completely different. I witnessed some very disturbing things, from patients not being fed to going hungry to patients (food never touched because they had fallen asleep because their meds were given before food was delivered )being moved inappropriately by nurses, patients being ignored who needed help,patients falling on a daily- sometimes twice a day- basis, patients being allowed to fall asleep at lunch, patient’s having no tools such as canes or walkers when they could clearly still use them and no call button at their fingertips but rather placed high above their heads. I was treated very unkindly by my father‘s nurse when the assistant director asked me about it her behavior turned from sarcasm to just ignoring me . I’ve contacted Mr. Wiley to talk about these as well as several other disturbing things that I witnessed that stay with me to this very day. I’ve even offered suggestions on how to solve the issues at hand such as morale and CNA‘s shopping on their phones at the nurses station rather than caring for patients however, my complaints and willingness to help remain ignored to this day. I am thankful that he was on Hospice I wouldn’t have known what to do without them. Especially if you are out of state, please do not put your loved one here!!!!!!

My close elderly relative went into this place from another NH out of state, healthy in all aspects and within 3 was close to death. This place may have nice looking rooms and so called fun engaging activities but they lack the most important quality- “real concern and empathetic mindset”,for their residents. I was with my relative daily at some point during day when I was not working or at night to help the person into bed. During the day the staff herded the residents around the nursing station because they didn’t have the staff to watch over them in different locations. It was always very loud and chaotic and it visibly upset many of the residents. It was definitely not a calming situation. Many residents would say “get me out of here.” The bathroom setup for the rooms was not conducive to health safety issues. There was one bathroom in between 2 rooms for 4 residents to use the same bathroom with all of their personal hygiene items being left unrestricted for accidental use by any of the 4 residents, such as toothbrushes being interchangeable. Very unsanitary and a path to widespread sickness. Within 3 weeks of my relative being in there, we noticed a deterioration of health. We brought this to the staff’s attention constantly, they said our relative had a “slight” UTI, that they would have the resident drink more water. We asked about an antibiotic to administer, they said no! On the last evening before we decided to remove our relative from this place the next morning, we tried to find a nurse or aide to ask them about us taking our relative to the hospital. The LPN that finally came in after my husband searched for someone for 30 minutes specifically stated, “ they do not recommend us taking the relative to the hospital.” The next morning we came in as soon as the doors opened, informed the director we were taking our relative out of this place permanently. We cleared out all personal items and left. Went straight to the prompt care facility. Once evaluated they said “ our relative needed to go to emergency room immediately. Oxygen levels were deadly low. They called the hospital we were coming and hospital took over. The ER doctor was not encouraging, didn’t think our relative would live through the day. But by Gods will our relative lived 3 more happy comfortable calm years until their passing at age 97. Our relative went back to the NH in the other state and they took the same wonderful, compassionate care as usual. We originally thought it would be best to have out relative here closer to us in this community, that was our reasoning to bring the relative here. However, we learned not all Nursing Homes have the same intentions for healthcare of the elderly. I would never ever recommend this McLean County NH to anyone for their relatives, for themselves or even their worst enemies.

Now, I realize things may have changed since I had any interaction with this nightmare of a nursing home, but this shouldn't have been removed in the first place, I know better now. I left a scathing review about the care my Grandma had received and once they had seen the review, approached me and told me to remove the review. I'm still angry about how they cared for her after her injury years later, the thought of this place crosses my mind often. When they would change her, they left it in her trashcan, thus filling her room with the malodorous scent of human waste. When confronted about it they would remove it, however when I would visit again, and I visited often, the same thing over and over. Instead of IMPROVING on their standard of care, they went directly to me and demanded it be removed. I wont let my fear of her not having a place to be cared for keep this information from coming to light stop me anymore as she has since passed a few years ago here at home. THANKFULLY her stay there was temporary until she recovered from a fall.
