This place is the last place I would want to stay at or have a family member stay at the staff is extremely rude and neglectful to their patients. I unfortunately had an issue with multiple staff members regarding racial jokes and discrimination at last I also had a family member who had valuable items in their room taken and management did nothing to help. I really hope people really do research when selecting a caregiving home.

Some time has passed since my initial review. I've increased the stars from 4 to 5. Why? Because of the extra care the staff gives to It's residents. Their smiling faces make a difference to those who can't leave. Also, the rooms are painted in pleasant hues & the residents are allowed to bring in some personal items to make them more homey. Finally, the staff have always been pleasant & most helpful to me when I have a question. It's a nice sr care facility, seems to be geared towards the sr's more in need of assistance rather than light assistance, at least that was my impression. Single occupancy rooms are small and seem more like a hospital room. Even so, it was clean and the residents seemed happy and well cared for. My main reason for giving this facility four 🌟 instead of five was the inconvenience of the parking area. For someone using a cane (or other), the walk from the car, up into the building, then down past meeting rooms before you get to the residents rooms could be daunting.

I would give 4.5 stars if I could. The staff here is wonderful and very helpful. The only issue I've witnessed is sometimes they don't have enough staff when thing get real busy. I don't mind waiting while another patient gets the needed attention. The rooms are quite spacious and roomy for wheel chairs. Each room has their own television, but you can bring your own if you like. Most rooms share a bathroom with the room next door. I've noticed 2 negative review's which I need to comment on as someone who is a patient here. I have never seen nor heard of anyone being held against their will. There are security procedures in place for the protection of the patients here. If you need or want to go somewhere, all you need to do is let the staff know where you are going (This is recorded in a book) and how long you will be gone. That way the staff can help to ensure your safety. My wife, who do housekeeping in a number of Minnesota Nursing homes, told me a story about a Alzheimer patient that had gotten out and through their security and was found the next day on the lawn dead. That nursing home didn't do thiee job and protect the patient. As for the amount of space, I've post 2 pictures of my room. As you can seen, I have los of room.

I had a very nice visit with my mother, Jane Busch. The check in process is simple now that I visited a few times. As I walked by the dining room I saw it all set up like a restaurant atmosphere. The little sitting areas on the way to my mother’s apartment looked very charming. Everything was very neat and well kept up. My mother’s apartment was neat and clean. While I was there Lindee came to check my mom’s blood sugar. She had a fun exchange with my mother. My mother showed me her Assisted Living Year Book. It was nice seeing all the residents pictures and putting the names she had been talking about with the faces. When I was leaving the building as I walked by the dining room many residents were sitting waiting for their evening meal. I recognized many whose pictures I had seen in the year book. My mother really likes the year book. My mother had a cute fabric pumpkin she had made in crafts. They make many cute projects. She enjoys arts and crafts.

This was my first visit back to Mala Strana since COVID. Front desk lady was quite helpful showing us the sign in/our procedure and directing us to my dad’s friend’s room. We had a nice visit. Dad’s friend was also very happy with the care and assistance that he has been receiving (assisted living room side).
