Senior Helpers arrived quickly to set up coverage for care for my aunt and uncle who needed immediate assistance. They were very flexible, accommodating, and caring.

We contacted Senior Helpers and specifically requested a male caregiver for our mother due to complicated past experiences with female caregivers. Grace and Steve initially seemed committed to helping us find the right fit. However, after approximately a week of discussions, moving forward with services, and signing contracts; Steve informed that they did not actually have a male caregiver available. This was extremely frustrating, as we had made it clear from the beginning that we needed someone as soon as possible and could have spent that time researching other agencies had we been informed of this upfront.

We then reluctantly agreed to work with a female caregiver who was professional and kind but ultimately not the right fit for our mother’s needs and triggered some of the very concerns we had expressed at the outset. When we frustratingly canceled the third scheduled visit as not to trigger our mother, we were charged for the session. While the cancellation may have fallen within their policy, there was no flexibility, understanding, or goodwill shown despite the circumstances and the fact that we had only just begun services.

What was most disappointing was that the overall experience felt unnecessarily stressful. Rather than feeling supported through a very important and emotional family decision, we felt pressured, caught in difficult negotiations, and left with the impression that our concerns and timelines were not being fully heard. Finding care for an aging parent with dementia is challenging enough, and we were hoping for a more compassionate and client-centered experience.

Our experience ultimately left us feeling frustrated and disappointed.

Very impressed thus far! Grace got out immediately, and got us started immediately (before others I reached out to for help even responded)! She did an incredible job in helping us find the best caregiver for our needs. Minor hiccups (to be expected as things get started) but always extremely responsive and dedicated to quick resolution! Allison has been super helpful with challenging schedule! And our primary caregiver is simply amazing! What a blessing! We could have never hoped to find somebody more awesome in every way! Highly recommend Sr Helpers and grateful my friend recommended me!

We switched to Senior Helpers from another PCA agency after some questionable practices by the other agency to pressure my mom to sign up for services she didn't need. We made the absolute right choice to switch. Senior helpers sent a manager who listened to my 93 year old mom describe what she was hoping for with a helper and how she went about her days. They found the perfect person and my mom has been so happy and well taken care of and always treated with kindness and dignity. Everyone at senior helpers has been professional, kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and always has my mom's best interests at heart. It was one of the best decisions we ever made, to choose them.
