After visiting several facilities in the area for our mother, we determined that Langdon Place of Exeter would be the best fit. Denise Petty, Director of Marketing, helped our mother to feel welcomed from the first meeting. The focus on veterans was especially important as both our mother and father were veterans. The nursing staff on the third floor where she lived were kind and very caring. They helped her to navigate the building, as she was legally blind and build up her confidence to move around by herself. Our mother was a picky eater, and concerned about the food offerings, but she quickly proclaimed about how good the food was. The maintenance staff were quick to respond to any needs in her apartment. Having a company that offered occupational and physical therapy was a plus and and option that she used. We were so relieved that our mother had a safe and caring environment in which to live.

I have a parent at Langdon. Their apartment is roomy. I like that there is a nurse station on each floor that is staffed 24 hours a day. There is PA that visits at least once a week for those that need/want care, although a staff nurse can monitor BP or draw samples to be sent for lab testing as needed. The facility is close to Exeter Hospital and there are many medical offices for those who wish to establish primary or dental care outside the facility. There is a Labcorp office across the driveway.

There is a beautiful pool that honestly, my grandchildren use and love. There is a monthly activities newsletter that I also receive by email, so I know there are plenty of things to do. The staff is very friendly and they seem to know all the residents by name. Langdon Place is not large with a total assisted living population of under 100 residents. Pets are allowed for those with furry companions.

There are events around the holidays where family are invited in to partake in an Aperitivo with light finger food, or sometimes a dinner. My mother is a vegetarian and there are choices for her at mealtime although it could be a little better. I understand the dining staff are working on this aspect of Langdon life. The price here includes all meals. The monthly fee is reasonable, especially when considering other local options.

For residents that still drive there are assigned parking spaces for their car. The driveway and parking lot is kept clear all through winter. There is a shuttle bus that takes residents to shop or to outside activities. While Exeter has a lot to offer, Seabrook and Epping are within 15 minutes away for more expansive choices. These are the places I take my mother to shop.

All in all, my siblings and I are happy to have found Langdon Place-Exeter. Aside from the items mentioned, it is close for me and other family members, so we can visit regularly. I would recommend Langdon Place without hesitation.

We have been very happy with Moms experience at Langdon. She has a number of issues and has been advised with promptness and kindness. Having all her meals made for her is a Godsend as her sight is deteriorating. The staff listens to her ideas. For example, now there is a group to help welcome new residents. She loves the Happy Hour days when she can make it. Its a great time to visit and chat and she is a people person! We are excited to hear that live-streaming church might be coming. The staff has been wonderful , open and ready to help meet everyone’s individual needs. That’s a monumental task so thank you all!!

My mother and father moved into Langdon Place of Exeter a few years ago. At first my parents were very nervous and apprehensive about moving from their long-term family home. However, the staff at Langdon Place of Exeter were very welcoming and supportive and made the transition for my parents very smooth and comfortable. My parents realized very quickly that it was the right move for them. They felt secure knowing that the staff of Langdon would be helping them with any need that came up. My parents have been very happy there and now looks ta the Langdon staff as dear friends. The nurses and rehab staff helped for my mother to walk more and become more active (and happy). My mother face lights up whenever they are there. I personally feel my parents are having a happier, less stressful and fuller life at Langdon. They did not socialize or do any activities previously whereas at Langdon they are. My brothers and I are also very happy knowing the staff at Langdon are looking out for them. I give Langdon Place of Exeter five stars. Thanks Bob DeBenedetto
