If I Could give Rockingham County nursing facility 10 stars I would!!! My mother was a resident of the nursing home for approximately three years. She was a stubborn spicy little resident, but they all treated her with such love, respect, and dignity. We visited quite often daytime, nighttime & weekends, and all the shifts were great! We knew everybody by name and they were all wonderful. My mother passed away the end of March at Portsmouth Hospital, and I so wish that she could have been there with all the people she had grown to love. The staff will always hold a special place in my heart for how well they took care of my mother. If you have an elderly loved one who needs more care than you can provide I highly recommend Rockingham County nursing home to be your surrogate family.

My mother-in-law lived at Rockingham Nursing Home for four years, and the care she received was outstanding. The staff treated her with real compassion, respect, and dignity every step of the way. Just as important, they supported our family—especially my wife—with clear communication and genuine kindness, which meant everything to us. During a difficult time, they gave us peace of mind knowing she was truly cared for. We’re very grateful and would absolutely recommend Rockingham to anyone looking for quality care.

I have a roommate who needs more attention and should be in a different unit. Some of the Ades are very protective of her but don't do much to actually help her. I've requested to be moved to a different unit which hasn't happened. They try to make me feel like it's my fault when they should be taking care of both residents, both of us.

My sister has been in this facility for 5 years and has received the very best care she has ever had since being struck down by her MS. The staff is wonderful, caring and compassionate. She has recently been put on Hospice care. I couldn't ask for better for her. I see her often, she is always well cared for, as am I when visiting. The staff assures that I have a place to sit and am comfortable when I'm with her. I can't say enough about Rochester Cty Rehab &Nursing they are excellent.

Literally the most inconsiderate, discriminating facility I have ever known! These people waisted two months of our time as my sister and I are trying to find permanent placement for my dad WHO HAS DEMENTIA and this facility acts like they are going to take him and then wants his medical chart from all the way back to 2000 and my dad previously suffered with schizophrenia and was managed by medicine back then. He hasn't had any signs of suffering from that in over 15 years and this facility said they couldn't take him because of his past psych history. As I work in the medical field, this is so unprofessional. How can you deny someone who needs 24/7 care. This place sucks and I will never recommend anyone here. You people love to discriminate against mental health, and not to mention half of the building is shut down since 2020 lmao over 5 years ago cause they can't staff properly, so I could honestly say it's a blessing in itself. I rather my love one taken care of properly, than to have my dad's insurance pay the facility like they fully staffed when they are not. Good Luck!
