Overall my father was cared for, the after services assisted with transport for his return home. The team truly addressed and pushed the VA, primary and extended services team to complete the necessary task for discharge. Continue giving great service.

The nurses and staff were all very compassionate and helpful. They made my 30-day stay a lot easier. When I first got there, I was a mess. Had an amputation on my left foot in January and was sent to another rehabilitation center in Winter Haven, which was not a good place. When I arrived at the Kissimmee Health and Rehab center, all I did was cry and every little mishap sent me into a panic. The nurses and staff where all very patient with me, they understood my panic and worked with me to make sure I was comfortable with my care. After a week there I was a different person. Much more relaxed and concentrated on my healing. One of the most important things, in my opinion, that they did right was how they listened to every complaint or ask I had and how they accommodated me as much as possible. The wound care was excellent. The therapy department was great. This place is clean. Everyone is friendly and show compassion towards all the patients, most notably to those who are there long term and can no longer take care of themselves. This center is small so they can provide a more personalized experience for patients. It isn't perfect but for me it was a thousand times better than the one in Winter Haven.

My father stayed here for three weeks receiving physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy following a prolonged hospitalization. The large staff were very professional, welcoming, courteous, and hardworking. My father has dementia, and the center was very patient in handling him. We were contemplating hospice on his admission to Orchid Cove, but in a relatively short time he made good progress in strength and function. The medical staff included a psychiatrist who was able to help with sleep difficulties and paranoia. It took a week for us to understand the way that things ran, so I wish there had been a better onboarding process or a handbook that helped with understanding things like laundry and meals and podiatry and haircuts. It would have also helped to have more contact numbers of certain staff. The bed was mechanical while many clients had electric beds. The physical building is quite old and dated, but the internal product is very good. We had a care conference a day before interstate transportation had been arranged. If this conference had occurred earlier in the stay or if there were regular meetings like this, we could have planned exit strategies better.
