About Kindred Hospital Greensboro

Kindred Hospital Greensboro is a long-term acute care hospital (LTACH), also called a specialty hospital, that provides hospital-level care for patients recovering from serious illnesses, injuries, or surgeries. The facility offers 24/7 physician or physician extender coverage along with respiratory therapy access to support around-the-clock recovery.

The hospital has 101 beds and includes an Intensive Care Unit for patients in critical condition, allowing individuals to progress to a less intense level of care as they improve. It holds Joint Commission Certifications in Respiratory Failure and Sepsis, reflecting a standardized, evidence-based approach to treatment and performance improvement.

Patients typically arrive with serious conditions such as respiratory failure, complex wounds, sepsis, stroke, or congestive heart failure, often complicated by existing health issues like diabetes or COPD. Many require treatments such as mechanical ventilation, respiratory therapy, dialysis, or IV therapy. A Subacute Unit within the hospital serves patients who need short-term comprehensive inpatient medical care and rehabilitation after a short-term illness, injury, or worsening disease, individuals who no longer need traditional hospital-level care but are not yet ready to return home.

Care at Kindred Hospital Greensboro is physician-led, with daily physician visits and acute care nurse-to-patient ratios, along with hospital-level services including dialysis and an on-site pharmacy. The hospital offers advanced clinical programs such as early mobility and complex wound care, and provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy while patients continue to receive acute care, with care plans tailored to each patient's condition and recovery goals rather than fixed minimum therapy requirements.

As part of a nationwide network of long-term acute care hospitals, Kindred Hospital Greensboro focuses on interdisciplinary, physician-led care aimed at helping medically complex patients regain independence and transition toward home or a lower level of care, such as an acute rehabilitation facility.

The doctors and staff worked together seamlessly, and it was clear that everyone truly cared about his recovery.

Having a loved one in the hospital is never easy, but this team made us feel supported and gave us confidence that my dad was in the best possible hands. We are incredibly grateful for the outstanding care, professionalism, and dedication shown by everyone. Thank you for helping my dad through such an important part of his recovery. We highly recommend this facility to anyone in need of long-term acute care.

Thank you for taking care of my mom. I was a little scared because of where the hospital is but don’t let that fool you. The staff there are really good. They genuinely care about their patients. I was asked if there were any nurses or CNAs that were exceptional and there were honestly to many to name. I will say that Rosa was really good and so was Hattie. They were very kind and they know their stuff!

I’d like to thank the entire staff for the excellent care that was given at Kindred. Every nurse, therapist, and support staff member treated us with kindness, respect, and professionalism. They took time to answer questions, made sure we felt informed, and truly cared about their patients comfort and recovery. The hospital was clean, and everyone worked together as a team. It’s never easy being in the hospital but the outstanding care my family member received made a difficult time much easier.
