I am extremely disappointed by an experience I recently had with a CNA while trying to advocate for my daughter and assist with her care. What should have been a respectful conversation about my daughter’s safety turned into an uncomfortable and distressing confrontation. The CNA was rude, disrespectful, and made statements about me that were based on rumors she claimed to have heard from other staff members before ever meeting me. She told me that staff had described me as “strict” or “mean,” which was hurtful and completely untrue. I have always tried to work cooperatively with staff because I care deeply about my daughter’s well being. My concerns stem from the fact that I have, on multiple occasions, found my daughter soaked in urine and soiled with feces. As a parent, I am understandably concerned about the risk of infections, skin breakdown, and other health complications. My intention has always been to help and advocate for my daughter, never to create conflict. During our interaction, I asked the CNA not to argue in front of my sick daughter because it was causing unnecessary stress. Her response was, “I’m sure she’s heard that enough.” I found this comment insensitive and inappropriate, especially considering my daughter’s condition. I also had a concerning incident in the shower room involving a shower bed. While I was attempting to assist, the shower bed was pushed into me. When I expressed concern about being hit, there was no apology. Instead, I was told that I had pushed it into her as well. I am a 76-year-old woman who has undergone a hip replacement and am physically vulnerable. The lack of concern or acknowledgment was upsetting. After speaking with the facility’s director, it was agreed that this CNA would no longer be assigned to my daughter’s care. While I appreciate that action, I remain dissatisfied with how the situation was handled overall. Family members should be treated with respect, and staff should maintain professionalism, especially when caring for vulnerable patients. I hope this review encourages management to reinforce respectful communication, professionalism, and patient centered care so that other families do not experience similar situations. Thank you.

After a 10 day hospitization, my 99 year old grandmother was skillfully and compassionately cared for during her stay at Greenhaven Health and Rehabilitation Center; March 21st - May 13th. Our family visited daily so saw first hand the gentle care provided in a "family-like" atmosphere. Her physical and occupational therapists worked diligently to prepare her for discharge home. From day one she was comfortable and visibly content in her new environment and our fears that she would be distressed/ distraught were banished. We could not have asked for a better experience or placement. My grandmother is home and continues to improve daily. Thank you Greenhaven staff.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Wondering how someone can be taken from a facility, by ambulance, only to be told their life-saving medication has been thrown away in the time (2 weeks) that they were gone. Neither the patient, nor the family were contacted about what needed to be done with the medication, and were not given the opportunity to pick these up. Two weeks. They held those medications for less than a month before discarding them. As for medical problems, having a nurse check vitals and see concerning symptoms should NOT be something that gets downplayed because "I'm waiting on the nurse to tell me how to handle this". And then placed a high-risk/ immuno compromised patient in a room with a patient who was extremely ill (ended up being pneumonia). They showed they have no idea how to care for their patients, staff seems overworked and under-skilled, with absolutely no amount of common sense being used to run this facility. If you care for your loved one, I wouldn't leave them here.

AS EXPECTED… My mom had total knee replacement on her left knee and we were praying so hard that she would be able to go home after two days in the hospital. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. So rehab it was. But there were only two available rehab facilities, one was one star and then this facility and both were miles away from her home. We took a chance… My mom was in the facility only three days. By the second night it all went downhill. My mom had finally got her bladder to working well and she needed help getting to the bathroom. The one nurse who seemed to be nice to us totally ignored my mom by passing by her room while she called for help. Unfortunately, due to one kidney and holding her urine for 50 minutes, she had to release on the bed. And there she laid on a wet bed for hours. My mom called me crying and it was a wrap. I went to get my mother and as long as she could stand, God would give her and us the strength to help her in her recovery. My mom said there was one nurse who helped her every time with no complaints and her name was Jessica on first shift. So thank you Jessica for caring for my mom. :) I believe that any positive reviews for this place is a lie (sorry) so please don’t send your loved one here.

We had respite care here for a week. Some of the staff were fabulous and some were not. The Admissions person was wonderful to work with and everyone was pleasant to me. There weren't enough staff to take care of the residents here unfortunately. However, I have to give high remarks for Crystal who took wonderful care of my mother in law. She said that Crystal was the kindest and most wonderful person and so helpful during this stressful time of stay.
