This has been a great facility for my mother in law. She is safe, taken care of and the staff are friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend!

I am in my 90s and currently live in an independent living facility. However, realizing that I may eventually need a higher level of care, I began investigating assisted living facilities in the New Bern area.<br><br>After visiting several facilities, I concluded that HomePlace of New Bern would be my first choice.<br><br>Several of my friends have moved there, and through visiting them regularly and hearing about their experiences, I was able to gain a good understanding of what the facility offers. These firsthand observations confirmed my decision.<br><br>What impressed me most was the staff. They are exceptionally friendly, caring, and attentive to the needs of the residents. The facility provides around-the-clock supervision, helping to ensure both safety and comfort for everyone who lives there.<br><br>For residents who are able and willing to participate, Homeplace offers a variety of daily activities, including games, entertainment, social events, and light physical exercise. These programs help residents remain active and engaged.<br><br>The meals are served three times a day and are both tasty and well prepared. In addition, I have attended the physical therapy program offered there for many months. The therapy has noticeably improved my mobility and my ability to care for myself independently.<br><br>Based on my personal observations and experiences, I am confident that when the time comes for me to move to an assisted living facility, Homeplace will be my choice.

The experience my wife had in assisted living for seven months was horrible. She ended up in the E.R./ hospital multiple times because of medication malpractice and negligence. The administrator and nursing director are not professional or transparent. My wife is now at Truewood and the care is superior to the Home Place. Don't make a decision to admit your loved one to a "pretty" facility. Make it based on the compassionate care your loved one deserves.
