Most of the CNAs were awesome with my mom while she was there for rehabilitation after a hospital stay. There were a few CNAs and nurses who were amazing and really seemed to care, but some of the ladies in charge were not friendly and only seemed to care when they were called out on it. It shows a 5 star facility, but most of the patient bathrooms were never available, they were always "out of order", and when my mother had to use the bathroom (She needed assistance) it usually took an hour for someone to get to her, until we usually had to call someone or find someone to help. My family and I understand that obviously my mom was not the only patient there, but for being a 5 star facility they should have tried better. There are worse facilities that she could have gone to, but I now know there are better than Hickory Creek.

I couldn’t have asked for or expected better care, commitment, communication and professionalism for my loved one than they and I both received during the 3 months my loved stayed there until their death. I got to know many of the staff there and they were always open, friendly and went out of their way to accommodate the needs of my loved one’s care. I highly recommend to anyone searching for the right place for a family member to look no further than Hickory Creek at Columbus. I will remember the staff and the time spent there for the rest of my life. I’m very thankful and grateful for all the specialized care they provided.

Do not send your loved ones to this facility. I was placed at Hickory creek for rehab after a lengthy hospital stay. It was an absolute nightmare and I signed myself out the very first night. It was absolutely disgusting. There was filth all over the walls, in the bed remote, and not to mention feces trail on the floor outside my room. My elderly roommate was nonverbal and they brought her food in and gave her one bite then a few minutes later came and took her tray away without feeding her more. I was not given my medication and was told the hospital “never sent orders over”. I was left on oxygen when I had never been on it before. No one checked to see if I could come off of it. When family arrived to pick me up they asked the male nurse about the situations that happened and he said “it’s not the first time things like this have happened.” Overall a very horrible place to be and see elderly neglected. I will never recommend this facility.
