⸻ ⭐ Heartland Living & Rehabilitation Center Review (Public Post Version) I am absolutely disgusted and deeply alarmed by my experience with Heartland Living & Rehabilitation Center in Greensboro, NC. I would not trust this facility with anyone I love — not for one hour, let alone an entire stay. What I went through should never happen to any patient or family. Upon my discharge, Heartland had every opportunity and every means to release my prescribed medications ON THE DAY I LEFT — and they CHOSE not to. Instead, they stalled, ignored calls, and then turned around and lied to cover up their own error, all while I was left without the medically necessary prescriptions that I am legally entitled to. And yes — North Carolina law is clear: 👉 A healthcare facility may NOT withhold a patient’s prescriptions, interfere with the transfer of medications, or block access to a pharmacy of the patient’s choice after discharge. 👉 Prescriptions belong to the patient, not the facility. 👉 Blocking access to medication is a violation of patient rights and discharge planning standards. Heartland ignored all of that. To make things worse, the health insurance coordinator at the facility demonstrated the same unprofessional behavior — slow to respond, slow to follow up, and absolutely unreliable when I needed answers. Calls were not returned. Promises were broken. They acted as if my life and health were an inconvenience. The lack of compassion, lack of accountability, and lack of professionalism was unbelievable — and dangerous. My discharge should have been simple, legal, and safe. Instead, it turned into a situation where: • They withheld my medications • They failed to reverse pharmacy billing • They interfered with my legal right to fill my prescriptions elsewhere • And then they tried to lie to clean up their own mistake This is not a “miscommunication.” This is systemic neglect, disorganization, and a complete disregard for patient welfare. Before you consider placing a loved one at Heartland Living & Rehabilitation Center, please read the other horrific reviews online. I wish I had seen them sooner. What happened to me is not an isolated case — it’s a pattern. 💥 My warning: If you care about your loved one’s health, safety, or dignity, look elsewhere. This facility has shown me that they cannot be trusted to follow the law, handle medications responsibly, communicate honestly, or provide even the most basic level of professional care.

I had never experienced a skilled nursing facility before, but visiting Heartland Living and Rehab completely changed my perspective. From the moment I arrived, the staff were kind, compassionate, and genuinely caring. What stood out most was their dedication to the residents — assisting them out of bed, engaging them in activities, and creating a warm, welcoming environment. I was struggling to place my father in a facility, but seeing the care and warmth at Heartland gave me peace of mind. The staff go above and beyond, even staying overnight during a winter storm to ensure residents are safe and cared for. While the facility is rated four stars, in my experience, they deserve five. I highly recommend visiting in person — their commitment to residents is truly evident.

Unfortunately I had to give 1 star in order to write this review. This facility is discussing! My MNL complained for 5+ days about her toilet being dirty. No housekeeper or housekeeping not cleaning! I go visit her and the toilet had feces all over it but she was told that she would have to use it anyways. I spoke with the assistant DON that wasn't able to find any cleaning supplies to clean the toilet. My MNL had trash under her bed and food on the floor that had been there for days as well. The DON did sweep under her bed after complaining about it as well. Nursing staff standing around on their cellphones while call bells going off for over an hour. My MNl was placed in her bed on Saturday night and was there until Monday morning laying in her own urine up to the back of her neck. This place needs to be shut down! Nurse aids are not caring and show no compassion. This is the worst nursing home I've ever been in!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently visited this nursing home while looking for the best care option for my granddad, and I was genuinely impressed. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and professional. The facility was spotless, well-organized, and had a calm, welcoming atmosphere. My granddad felt comfortable right away, and I could see how much care and dignity the residents are treated with. They also have great activities and personalized care plans, which really sets them apart. I left with full confidence that this is a place where my granddad would be safe, happy, and well cared for. Highly recommend!

It's a Cone Health facility...need I say more??? These have got to be paid reviews because no way in Hades this place deserves above a 2 star....and that's being generous. The first thing that greets you when you get inside (assuming you can find someone to let you in), is the stench of urine. I absolutely hated walking into this place. There’s quite a mix among the staff; some are wonderful and genuinely try their best, while others seem disengaged and lack essential knowledge. Unfortunately, the so-called “social worker,” a young African American woman, did not prove to be very helpful. After an initial greeting from the director, ongoing communication with the staff was almost nonexistent. The rooms were outdated & the beds were old. My loved one constantly had to ask repeatedly for staff assistance and would be ignored. The food was often the wrong temperature and very meager amounts. There were DAYS that my loved one did not have hot water made available to them and maintenance staff was a joke. Again, while there were a handful of staff members and therapists that were amazing, I would NOT recommend sending someone you love to this outdated facility.
