This place is not what they tell you it is. Since it's now a for profit company everything has gone down hill. They can't keep staff. It's a constant turnover ( except sweet Kevin). They don't have enough staff. At one point the house cleaners had to serve the meals after cleaning toilets. That has to be illegal! It sure is disgusting! They promise chef cooked food. There have been so many chefs they've gone through it's ridiculous.
The food they buy must be the cheapest low grade things they can have. Service is terrible. The residents at one table will get their food one at a time while the others at the table haven't received theirs. One person has eaten and left while another table mate still hasn't received their plate.
To ask for a repair to be done it's weeks before it's done, if it's done at all. Mom had a hole in her wall from a leaky pipe they NEVER repaired until Mom moved out.
When they have their meeting with the administrators and ask for a change in something ( like the food). The administrators always say, " oh, I didn't realize that, we'll look into it" and never do a thing about it. Harmony has gotten so bad that numerous people have moved to a better places. They have 33 units in independent that are vacant. I hope people wise up to the false advertising. We're looking for a new place for Mom to live.
RUN, don't walk from this terrible place. The only thing they care about is the money...not the welfare of the residents. 😟.

Excuse what I said above about the repair team.
I did just find out repair time is much faster with the repair people that are on the team now.
Also, the new activity director is just wonderful. The residents are very fun too!

I would like to say my aunt whom I love like a mother. No one answers phone will not up date a POA a niece who has lived with her. It’s hard enough with Dementia/Sundowners. I know her best. Since no one answers phone ther on Memory Care Unit…. How do I know she is being taken care of ! Any Dememetia/Alzheimers unit has a nurse to answer questions 24/7. I have been told by staff that there is no staff on unit due to call outs. I’m Calling to check on my aunt. Pillar
Of community. Teacher 35+ years Buncombe County and when I call. I’m flagged as being trouble. I only ask questions and in emergency in jump to there which is unacceptable to staff at 3am to see why no one answers phone. Today I’ve called 8+times an been continuously hung up on as POA to ask status and speak to nurse. I called 911 for wellness check due to no service add on Memory Care Unit. My aunt is my life. I have to work since unable to keep her at her home.
I should not be denied right due to discrimination of my attire at 2-3 am. No one was answering phone. I work nightshift. I feel boarding my 5month old puppy would be more informative as he is my baby boy. My Aunt is my Mother. I expect better care here. If wellness check doesn’t come through. It’s Asheville NC.
I’m moving her to 💯 better care!!

My mother is a resident of Harmony’s Assisted Living community. She is cared for by professional, caring staff in a meticulously clean, well-maintained environment. Outside of these important elements, she is constantly engaged. Staff-led activities within the community as well as in the wider Asheville area keep Mom active. I am grateful for her very positive experience!
