It took a few years of the VA trying quite a few companies for us. The people that have come to our home claiming to be home health aides should be ashamed. Finally ending up with First Light and finding Daphney is a blessing long overdue. Her kindness and patience with my husband is something to watch. Dementia/Alzheimers is an awful disease to navigate, she is able to anticipate what he needs sometimes before I do. He’s a Vietnam veteran and can tell some really frightening stories. Daphney listens every time. She’s become family to us and honestly been here when they have not.

We are blessed to have Daphney in our lives. She is basically the only person I trust to care for my husband other than myself. Her kindness, patience and attention she gives is hard to find, she sometimes anticipates what he needs before I do. It takes a special person to understand this awful disease, dementia/Alzheimer’s and the behaviors that come with it. We could not ask for a better aide. We went through a few years trying different home health companies and, more than a few home health aides that should not hold that position. Landing with First Light, finally getting good help with Daphney has taken a huge load off me personally.

First light took care of my ex husband as assigned by the VA but I was involved since kids live out of state. They were very responsive and always available to talk. They did their best to provide care givers he liked which was sometimes a problem (his problem) due to him having dementia and trying to refuse care. All were helpful and courteous whenever I was there at same time. He often tried to refuse care so sometimes I had to be the “bad guy” and tell him we are not taking no for an answer and then usually he would participate

All I can say is Wow! I highly recommend this company to everyone! My Dad was 101 when they started helping us with his care. They were punctual, caring, hard working and dedicated! My Dad just loved Maggie! She's a doll and so on it at all times. Thank you First light for being our partner and seeing him through each day!
