I dont even know where to start ... my 75 yr old mom who had brain surgery went here for the last part of rehab after her acute rehab at strong..... wow. The staff were extremely nice during the day shift, however they sorely lacked the adequate amount of staff for all the patients. Often times the call bell would take a half hour to answer. Some huge huge huge downfalls: my mom fell the first and second night there snd the staff didn't alert me until well into the next day. One of the falls was because they gave her her sleep time medicine while she was still in a chair and she hallucinated!!!!! The 3rd fall someone didn't put her bed low as per her health plan AND LEFT HER WALKER OPEN WITHIN HER REACH!!!!!!! When i called up there the phpne was ringing for over 10 minutes and i had to call a different dloor just to get somwone to go up a floor and check on mom. And she had fallen.the rehab therapist people were nice for sure, but this place is way understaffed to the point its extremely unsafe. I had to go up daily for about 6 to 8 hours just to make sure my mom was taken care of. Mom is now safely home and thriving. While at elderwood, I brought up a lot of concerns, and I put in two grievance paperwork, and nothing was ever done about anything..... Update: 1 week later, and we still do not have any referrals for any agencies to get physical therapy or occupational therapy for my mom. Thank god that I got a lot of training. While mom was at strong hospital and they've showed me a lot of what to do with physical therapy and occupational therapy, And speech and I also have a bachelor's degree. And i'm a very smart human being, and I love my mom.So all those things together.I've been her only therapist for the past week. It's been a lot of back and forth, and all the agencies said that elderwood has never sent them anything.... everyone do yourself a favor do not sign your loved one to elderwood. It's not worth it
