I cannot thank this facility enough for helping my mother overcome cellulitis. They brought her from not being able to walk, to walking with a walker and now successfully living in an assisted living facility. The place is clean, and the staff is wonderful!

I was discharged from this facility today. From the receptionist to the administrator and everyone in between, I was dealt with kindness and professionalism. Nothing is 100%, but it was close. If I ever need their help again, I would go back in a heartbeat. If I needed anything, within reason, they provided it. They were encouraging and cheered my accomplishments. The surroundings were clean and the decor was cheerful and tastefully done. Whatever issues they had, based on previous reviews, they seem to have been resolved. Based on previous experiences with other Elderwood facilities, I was hesitant about going there and I'm happy that I did. I must give kudos to the therapy department. They're awesome, whether they worked with me individually or if we were just in the gym. They liked the music I would listen to while working out so they automatically got a gold star 🌟 I would recommend them to anyone needing their services. Thank you Elderwood on Grand Island, keep up the good work!

I was in rehab at G.I.Elderwood for about a month following hip surgery. The PT & OT were excellent, skilled and fun, they worked me hard but encouragingly and worked hard for me. The nursing staff was professional but somewhat understaffed. The care aid situation was terrible, severely understaffed and to an alarming degree unprofessional. I know there was, and still is, a shortage in aids but, when I was there at least, the aid to patient ratio was way too low and the pro : lazy or rude ratio about 1:3. I was unable to stand or walk unassisted for the first week or so and was left for over an hour on the john or sitting half dressed on the side of my bed for over an hour on several occasions. I had breakfast trays left on a chair across the room several times, I was never given a shower during my entire stay but did get my hair washed twice. The poor food was a blessing in disguise, I lost 27 lbs during my stay. Sadly, I know there are worse places, but this location needs to provide better patient care. Loved my inmates though!

Would not place another family member there again!!! Not going to say too much but we made serval complaints to no resolve to any of them. Biggest problem imo is shortness on staffing and professionalism all around. High turnover of employees from what I’ve seen. Heard conversations in hallway about inadequate pay for staff and how one nurse had to get a second job due to hours being cut. Totally unacceptable to hear that especially what it cost our family to keep our loved ones there. Do better Elderwood shame on you!!!
