Countryside Health Care is a bright, sunny facility filled with a truly compassionate team of nurses, social workers, and care staff. From the moment you walk in, it’s clear that residents are treated like family, which is reflected in how many have happily called it home for years. The staff is kind, attentive, and always going the extra mile to make residents feel cared for, safe, and valued.

This place by far is above other local places my parents have been in. Caring nurses and CNA’s. The front desk person was caring as well. Very organized and clean. Only place out there that is competent that I’ve seen. This is my pick and the people working there care for the patient. They don’t hesitate to call ambulance when needed to bring your loved ones to hospital. Very important to have the trust in a facility that you leave a family member in.

My sister had dementia and was at the Countryside nursing home for 3 months. She got good care and the nurses were very kind to her, coming by to talk to her and see how she was doing. The place was clean and had a nice outdoor area where you could sit.v my sister went there in April 2023 and died there in July 2023

My father qualified for a spot in this facility in January 2024. My father was living in our finished basement for almost a year when our basement flooded unexpectedly after significant rain. Our home has 2 bedrooms, but due to the flooding my father had to move into our young son's room so our son had to sleep on a cot in our bedroom. You can imagine our relief when we found out that my father had qualified for a spot at Countryside which would allow my son to move back into his bedroom after a month of sharing space. My father was a little apprehensive of the move given that he suffers from significant dementia so we decided to go on a tour of the facility on the Friday before he was supposed to be admitted. I had spoken at length with a nurse in Admissions and she was aware of our current living situation, my father's apprehension, his dementia and that he vapes nicotine. He has been an alcoholic and smoker for most of his life. We were able to get the alcohol addiction under control but we compromised on vaping nicotine instead of smoking cigarettes in our house for safety reasons. We went on the tour and all was going well. My father asked if residents could go outside and he was told that there was an enclosed courtyard where they could go to sit outside. He asked again and this same person from Admissions specifically told him that he could not go out to vape. Now anyone that works with patients with dementia would expect a severely agitated reaction from an addict after telling him that he couldn't participate in his addictive behavior. However, my father was rather calm and just said that a place that wouldn't let their residents go outside to vape was not the place for him. We left the facility and went home to continue packing his things for the move on Monday. We discussed things more and he was understanding that this would be a good move for him. I got a phone call that afternoon from the same person in Admissions. She told me that my father no longer had a spot because he wasn't a "good fit" for the facility. I burst into tears on the phone as I was at a loss given our troubling living situation. She also told me that she specifically told my father that he couldn't go outside to vape because she wanted to see his reaction. So she was purposely antagonizing an older person with dementia. This facility was obviously not the place for my father after realizing how heartless their employees are. I wanted to share our experience so others would be aware that this facility is looking for individuals who do not "make any waves," but prefers patients who aren't very mobile and do not exhibit emotion. I was relieved that we found this out before he moved in even though it has been very difficult navigating the living situation with such limited space.
