I highly recommend Sabrina, the Director of Activities, and her incredible team. Sabrina brings such warmth, creativity, and dedication to everything she does for the residents. You can truly see the joy on their faces during the programs and events she organizes—each activity is thoughtful, engaging, and tailored to make everyone feel included and valued. Her staff is equally amazing—kind, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure residents are comfortable, happy, and participating. There is a genuine sense of community and care that you feel the moment you walk in. It’s clear that Sabrina and her team are passionate about what they do, and that passion makes a meaningful difference in the lives of the residents every single day. What We Learned About Cogir West End !!! When my wife and I decided that an assisted living residence was the next home for us, we considered more than a dozen Northern Virginia, Maryland and DC properties. Several facilities immediately disqualified themselves since they isolate assisted living persons and do not allow them to share an apartment with an independent living person. To evaluate the reminder of facilities, our selection criteria was: *** comfort of living quarters *** variety of facility areas and activities *** quality of meals *** access to medical services *** qualification and performance of staff, and *** initial and continuing cost Quite frankly, our experience was that Cogir West End immediately distinguished itself with high marks in each area with a convenient Alexandria location near shopping and transportation. We found that the variety of apartments were comfortable, spacious and safe with entry to the building monitored by front desk personnel. We wanted to continue our daily exercise activities and were delighted by the very well-equipped fitness center with daily scheduled activities, enabling us to easily participate in healthy exercise sessions. We were also impressed by the facility's: *** movie theater with two daily showings of a feature film *** therapy swimming pool *** several quiet nooks featuring a variety of books, novels and reading material *** piano lounge featuring a constant fireplace *** game room accommodating various board ad card games *** tap room with big screen TV offering a variety of beverages and a daily happy hour *** expansive outdoor courtyard for dining and relaxation *** convenient on-site hair and nail salon, and *** weekly shopping and sightseeing trips in the property's vehicle accommodating wheel chairs. The daily variety of breakfasts, lunches and dinners served by courteous wait staff are consistently high quality and delicious. With the needs of residents ranging from independent living to assisted living to memory care, Cogir West End has assembled a cadre of caregivers who appreciate the sensitivity of care that each resident deserves and maintain a commitment to provide it. They are guided by on-site medical personnel readily available to residents. Unlike other assisted living sites, the financial cost of living at Cogir West End is straightforward and affordable with no requirements to purchase the living unit or enter into any long-term multi-thousand dollar agreements. In their place, there is a modest one-time entry fee and a monthly charge that remains constant with any special services covered by a reasonable separate charge. All in all, Cogir West End deserves the consideration of any person or family seeking a delightful, affordable and comfortable residence for the next stage of their life. Based on those considerations, we've chosen Cogir West End as our home. Regards Marilyn and Tom Bennett
