We took my elderly mother out of short term rehab after less than 24 hours. The lack of supplies such as waterproof pads and linens was appalling. Meds were late by hours. The room was dirty and in disrepair and with the exception of the CNA (Karen) the staff was nonexistent. It was recommended to me that I not leave her alone there by an outside patient advocate with previous experience with Meadowbrook after she was admitted. She was a max assist of two people to use the bathroom and after waiting for more than 10 minutes for the call bell to be answered I assisted her off the toilet myself. She has a pelvic fracture and was in a lot of pain. The nurse came in 10 minutes later for a total of 20 minutes of a bathroom call bell ringing unanswered. To say this is unacceptable would be an understatement! What if I wasn't there? I can't even think about what would have occurred. As someone who spent a career in healthcare, this situation is beyond disturbing. Shame on the company who currently owns Meadowbrook! Staff your facility, provide a clean and safe environment or shut the place down!! Human beings deserve so much better! The photo of the filthy floor was taken minutes after she was admitted. I 100% would not recommend sending a loved one there. For reference, I never leave reviews but felt compelled to warn others!

I have been at Meadow Brook for way over a year and I have had nothing but garbage food served to me. I have had to order my own food and have it delivered I've had to buy supplies bandages because they say they don't have anything.. When the hospital called here to see if there was any rooms available they asked if they could accommodate my needs they said they could and they absolutely did not.....they don't have connectors for cpap machines or breathing aspirates this place sucks. . I've had the purchase my own items as needed shampoo conditioners soap any kind of supply that I would need. .I would never recommend even a dog to stay here. The food is toros it was bad before it's even worse now that new management took it over. For the amount of money that we are paying insurance we should be getting better quality food. Most of the food they make the day before and just heat it up the next day Check out the dates on the sandwiches that are pre-made and they are outdated the crust is as hard as a rock. Looks like they're giving us cow corn .....lol. which is disgusting I have pictures I have proof Even the peanut butter that they serve here is awful and I just heard that we all ran out of sugar so there's no more sugar in the entire building for coffee or tea and they don't know when the next shipment is gonna be so don't send your grandparents or your parents or any loved one here unless you wanna see them in a pine box.

My mom just called me from her phone because she fell. I tried calling them but they didnt answer. She is currently in the temporary rehab unit and they didnt help her after her fall, she had to crawl back to her bed and then call me. This place is absolutely despicable. Update- my mother sent me pictures of the conditions that she is living in. They dont help her take out the trash and they refuse to help her untangle her oxygen tubing (she is too weak to do it herself) and now she isn't getting the proper oxygen concentration that she needs. If this is the way they treat all patients then they need to be reported and shut down.

After being discharged from the hospital MeadowBrook was a pivotal part of my abdominal surgery recovery. The PT staff was exceptional and made me feel very comfortable. All the nurses and the doctors were extremely kind, caring and helpful. I highly recommend MeadowBrook in Granby, CT.
