About Carolina Reserve of Laurel Park

Family experiences highlight the physical environment and staff attention during the admission process. Visitors note the community feels home-like rather than institutional, with clean, well-decorated spaces and spacious resident rooms. Several families praise specific team members—particularly staff who took time to know residents and families personally—for their attentiveness and friendliness. One family described staff as making "the community feel superior to other facilities we have experienced." The admission team, including marketing and clinical leadership, receives consistent mention for thoroughness and empathy in guiding families through the decision.

Carolina Reserve is a beautiful Assisted living that does not feel like a facility. Everything is clean with pretty decor. My aunt’s room is spacious. Our experience started with Sharlynn who was exactly what was needed to make admission run smoothly. She came to my Aunt’s house and helped us choose furniture that would work well in the room. Sharlynn was attentive to our questions and got answers promptly. Sharlynn is the best front person for this company. In our opinion, the nurse Jennifer, is a tremendous asset for this company also. She has been so attentive to our Aunt. We can tell she sees our Aunt personally and hands on involved in her care. She has called me with updates and answered my texts and calls. She has such a calming attitude and appears to really care for the residents. The other staff working with my aunt have been extremely nice also. My family would definitely recommend Carolina Reserve as an A plus Assisted Living facility.

Relocated my mother into this facility two months ago. Met with their marketing expert Sharlyn for a tour and pricing details to determine if it was a good fit. She was very thorough and answered all questions concisely and with an infectious amount of energy and empathy. Their Director Lloyd was equally informative and his demeanor settles the anxiety that comes with making these hard decisions. Their nursing staff is so kind, caring and patient with my mom. Their activities staff, Joe and M&M bring energy, creativity and fun to every occasion every day. My mom has a new and positive attitude about no longer being able to live in her own home thanks to this facility and the importance they placed in how this facility is run and the resident's comfort and quality of life. If you are searching for a warm and welcoming environment for your aging loved ones...this is it.

We absolutely adore the staff! Every single one is friendly and took the time to get to know our entire family. We chit chat with staff every time we visit making the community feel superior to other facilities we have experienced. While we try to visit every day with my grandmother, we are confident she receives fantastic care and support when we are unable to stop by. My family spends a lot of time at the facility and interact with other residents and we have never heard anyone say anything but kind remarks about their experiences. We are grateful to be able to have our grandmother in such a wonderful place and highly recommend!

Buyer beware! A lady that I was helping take care of was placed there and our experience with this facility was not good. My boss would politely say it wasn't a good fit. Jim and I went to see Irene everyday while she was there and it was rare that we went there and found things the way they should be. I will say that they had a couple employees that were very attentive and done more than stick their head in the door and ask was she ok or needed anything. I thank those couple employees. I could always tell when they were working. Most of the time, most of the employees were on there cellphones. Irene's room was never clean. Any cleaning that was done I did it. Most days her diaper was soiled, bed was never made, and it was rare to walk in the bathroom to find no poop anywhere. They have these help buttons that when pressed an alarm was supposed to go directly to the staff's phone. Jim had an incident where Irene fell and he needed help he pressed button several times no one shows. He had to go to the nures desk to get any help. Not to mention, someone gave Irene a very traumatic shower. Irene called Jim crying she said she was wet and cold and no one would help her. When Jim called down there they acted like they didn't know what he was talking about that she was fine. When we got there she was very upset her head was soaking wet. When I took her to the bathroom her skin was very red and she kept saying that whoever scrubbed her really hard. Jim told the staff him or I would take care of her bathing from then on. I realize that nurses don't have time to cater to every patient and they got a job to do but in this case I feel that whoever went to far. Some of the residents were very well placed there but please do your research before placing a loved one there. Make sure it's an accurate fit. Don't go by the salesman Patrick to sell you a hope and dream. Patrick is a very good salesman and maybe he don't know all the ends and outs of the place. I have learned a lot through this experience. I hope this review helps someone.
