Capitol Towers | An RHF Community

Capitol Towers is a nine-story, 144-unit apartment community for seniors aged 62 and older and persons with disabilities located in Hartford, Connecticut. The community offers independent living in a non-smoking high-rise setting, with one-bedroom and two-bedroom handicap-accessible apartments featuring newly renovated kitchens, Energy Star appliances, wall-to-wall carpeting, and window blinds. Monthly rent includes heat, water, electricity, and trash service.

A full-time Resident Services Coordinator trained in elderly services provides support to residents regarding federal, state, and local programs. The community offers both subsidized Project-Based Section 8 units and market-rate units, with rent calculated at approximately 30% of resident income for subsidized units. Capitol Towers welcomes small dogs or cats, with a limit of one animal per apartment subject to size restrictions.

The community is located in the Capitol District with convenient access to the State Capitol, Legislative Buildings, Bushnell Park, Bushnell Theater, restaurants, shopping, churches, and public transportation. Two elevators serve all floors, and residents have access to a gated parking lot. Laundry facilities with Smartcard washers and dryers are located on the lower level, and garbage and recycling centers are available on each floor.

Residents enjoy bi-weekly coffee hours, weekly exercise classes, a community pool room, and a room with games and puzzles. The community facilitates transportation through local public transit service, an internal Dial-A-Ride program, and weekly grocery shopping trips via Dattco on Wednesdays. Storage space is available within individual apartments.
