Canterbury Park is the best! The apartments are spacious, well cared for, cleaning provided, and great balconies for flowers, etc. There are many optional activities to choose from. The chef is fabulous--as a former restaurant cook I am a bit critical, but there is a buffet breakfast, a four course dinner, and six options for the entree that change monthly. The bistro is open mid-day and weekends! Best of all? The staff and student workers are focused on friendly customer service. Move while you can make all the decisions--tours available. For over two decades, my family has been deeply grateful for the exceptional services provided by the Canterbury family of Sr. Care. It began more than twenty years ago when my father started his journey with dementia. My mother, determined to care for him at home as long as possible, found invaluable support through Canterbury’s flexible options. Whether it was daily assistance or weekend respite care, Canterbury gave her the breaks she needed while maintaining my father’s dignity. From those early interactions, we recognized the integrity and high standards that define this organization. When the time came for my father to transition to full-time care, choosing Canterbury was an easy decision. During our frequent visits, we were consistently moved by the compassionate, respectful care he received, even as his condition worsened, until his final days.

Nine years ago, my mother, then a vibrant widow approaching 80, made the intentional choice to embrace Canterbury’s independent living community. Though initially apprehensive, she quickly discovered how much the sense of community and delicious, thoughtfully prepared meals enriched her life. She thrived in this new chapter, and her enthusiasm inspired us to recommend Canterbury to countless friends and relatives. The warmth and quality of the Canterbury family have left a lasting impression on us all.

The staff and services at Canterbury are truly exceptional. They strike the perfect balance with holiday celebrations, which my mother loved attending—and inviting us to join. These events sparked such joy that she even started collecting special hats in her 80s to wear alongside her friends at these special events. The facility itself is beautifully designed and meticulously maintained, creating an inviting atmosphere. I cherished meeting my mother for delicious, reasonably priced lunches at the on-site Bistro, where the staff’s kindness to both residents and guests never went unnoticed. My mother particularly adored Debbie, the on-site hairdresser, who always made her feel pampered and cared for.

Canterbury Gardens has been a blessing to my parents, offering a spectrum of services tailored to their evolving needs. My wife and I often reflect on our own future, knowing we’ll likely stay in our home for another couple of decades. But when the time comes for a change, we find great comfort in knowing that our small town is home to such a high-quality, family-oriented senior care community like Canterbury.

Sincerely,

Larry & Traci Wood

I love this place. I was at a point where I could not keep my home up and gardening, repairs etc. I started to fall at home a lot and find I wasn’t able to get up. After two terrible falls my family finally talked me into looking into Canterbury Place, an independent living facility in Longview. I did as I knew of this place and love the staff. I moved in March 1 and this is it for me. I feel content for the first time in my life. I’m taken care of and eating like I should. Many activities. The staff are my friends. They call me by my first name. I have met such wonderful and friendly people. As I said .content and happy. I dearly love it here. Loralee A May. (Mrs.Bud)

Pictures of my patio .

My mother in law is a new resident at CP. From the first meeting with Diane Craft and tour, my husband and I knew this was the perfect place for his mom. It’s not just the quality of the styling, amenities, dining, and activity options, all of which are amazing and luxurious as advertised. It is the people - staff and residents. There truly is a feeling of community here that embraces residents and visitors alike. At every stage of the process to date, our family has been welcomed, supported, and embraced by the Canterbury Park community. It has been such a wonderful transition for my mother in law, as well as our family, to know that she is in a place that is such a wonderful fit for her. Our thanks to Diane, Jeanne, all of the reception staff (and Julie’s dog treats), Justin, Erin, and Grant.

Although it didn't work out to move him in, Diane was extremely helpful in pointing me in the right direction when it was time to find a place to move my uncle.
