The facility is divided into two intimate neighborhoods sharing a Main Street area, with private rooms positioned along the perimeter for natural light and ventilation. Common spaces feature elegant yet cozy furnishings, a fireplace, and comfortable seating. An activity kitchen provides cooking aromas and sensory stimulation, while a recreation room designed to evoke a garden setting offers residents a connection to the outdoors. Bathrooms visible from beds aid nighttime orientation, and advanced lighting throughout helps maintain natural sleep cycles. During mild weather, a gated courtyard and garden with an easy-to-follow path allows residents to walk freely in a discovery-focused environment.

Programming at Brookside incorporates mind, body, and spirit through brain fitness activities, food, exercise, and the arts. The Life Engagement team offers 11 hours of structured programming daily, extending into evening hours, recognizing that unstructured time can increase discomfort and anxiety for residents living with dementia. Staff use validation techniques during interactions, supporting residents' autonomy and emotional well-being.
