Brookdale Skyline is a continuing care retirement community in Colorado Springs, Colorado, set against the backdrop of Pikes Peak and the Rocky Mountains. The gated campus offers four levels of care in one place—independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing/rehabilitation—so residents can typically remain on the same campus even if care needs change over time. As a rental CCRC, residents pay a monthly rental fee plus additional fees based on level of care and services needed.
Housing options include more than a dozen floor plans, from one-story garden homes with attached garages and private patios to studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. Assisted living residents receive support with daily tasks such as dressing, bathing and medication management, while the memory care program, including the Clare Bridge setting, uses a person-centered approach with familiar routines and calm, sensory-friendly surroundings for those with Alzheimer's or dementia. A Crossings program is also offered for individuals in the early stages of Alzheimer's or dementia as a step between assisted living and memory care. Skilled nursing and rehabilitation services are supported by licensed nurses available day and night.
Dining follows an Optimum Life philosophy, incorporating whole grains, lean proteins, fruits and vegetables, with resident input shaping menus through recipe sharing and menu chats. Memory care dining, through Clare Bridge, is designed to offer a calm setting that builds trust with residents.
Social and wellness programming includes the Creative Crafters Club, mindfulness yoga classes, storytelling circles, weekly Coffee and Conversation socials, evening trivia challenges, line dancing and Aqua Joints classes. Residents have formed clubs such as a Book Club, Veterans Association, Gardening Society and Crafting Circle, with hobbies including gardening, painting, knitting, journaling and birdwatching. The community has residents with backgrounds in education, military service and healthcare, and welcomes veterans, including those who served as Air Force Captains and Navy Commanders.
Located in a quiet residential neighborhood across the street from Bear Creek Nature Center, Brookdale Skyline offers scheduled daily transportation to local destinations such as Park Meadows Mall and Kohl's, along with an on-site bank and ATM. The surrounding area provides access to outdoor activities like hiking and golfing, as well as museums, art galleries and restaurants, including nearby attractions such as Garden of the Gods, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum and Pikes Peak. The community is also close to hospitals and medical centers, including UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central and a local VA Clinic.
