The care my Mom has received at Brookdale is great. The staff that actually provides the daily care for my Mom are very kind and compassionate. The administration, however, is awful. There is ZERO communication. They do not respond to emails or phone calls. The only times we have even been able to meet with them are by NOT prior arrangement. When we actually did get a meeting, we were promised everything would be taken care of. At last report, the request for a light bulb replacement was over 1 month ago and still waiting.
Their price increases are ridiculous. In 5 years, they have gone up almost 2k PER MONTH. What, you may ask do you get for this rate? The furthest room from the nurses station, the opportunity to buy toilet paper for the resident. (Why toilet paper isn't included in the cost is anyone's guess). I can't complain enough about Lyndsay or corporate headquarters. I hope they, or someone they love, is subjected to the truly awful place this has become. I will again praise the "real" workers who are almost always kind and pleasant.

Update: received a text from a family member who just received her Christmas cards for THE LAST 3 YEARS marked as Return to Sender. Let's see: Mom received mail. Mom is incapable of opening her mailbox (vision deficit). You can't take it to her, alert family, etc? FOR 3 YEARS?
