My son was sent to Brookdale on 11-2-2024. He passed away at Brookdale on 11-24-2024. This place would not let me stay with my son overnight and I told them at other rehab facilities they would let me stay with him. The nite I left him alone I told the nurse I was leaving and would return the next morning. They called me at 6:30 the next morning that he deceased. I don’t know what happened and no one from the facility has bothered to call me at all. I wondered if he called them out because they did take a long time to come when you would push the button. They never put side rails on the bed like they said they would. He had a Ostomy bag they would not clean at times and I had to do there job in changing him. They never helped me him bath him. I did there job. On the paperwork it states at 10:30 pm he was doing fine so at what time did it all go wrong. They said he was largistic so why didn’t they call the ambulance? Tell this day it’s like me hearing my son scream and no one came to save him. I wish I would have read the reviews first or gotten him out in time

One of my parents has lived here for 6+ months. This place is very expensive, even with Medicare and long-term care insurance. Here’s what I’ve discovered so far: the professional staff are very slow to reply, if at all, to family inquiries; my parent’s belongings regularly go missing; the bed often has dirty or missing (top/flat) sheets; the bathroom isn’t kept that clean; the room is hot in the summer & too cold now, and the room thermostat cannot controlled by patient. On the positive side, most of the daily care , front desk & dining staff are very nice and helpful; the location is convenient for our family; they extended visiting hours/front door access on the rehab side from 6pm to 8pm.
