My family’s experience with Brookdale Hamilton Wolfe has been deeply disappointing and, in my opinion, unacceptable. We were charged for personal care services that my mother‑in‑law did not receive. Over eight months, she lost ten pounds due to what we believe was neglect. Staff did not ensure she ate, and she was repeatedly left sitting in soiled clothing and bedding despite being billed for personal care. The facility appeared consistently understaffed, and many pieces of equipment were broken for long periods of time. Her closet door was pulled off its hinges multiple times and simply propped against the wall, creating a safety hazard. When it was finally replaced months later, the wrong door was installed upside down. The entrance door to her room was inoperable for at least six months, and the dryers were frequently broken. Communication around her medications was unclear and inconsistent. Their accounting cost her banking fees and unneccessary charges that should not have been incurred. We finally found a more affordable and caring place for her and gave the required 30 days notice. We received notice that they are going to draw funds out of her account for the next month anyway. She moved out 30 days ago...they are charging her for personal care (what?) and they are continuing to draft out of her account despite our notice to leave. (?!?!?!) Based on our experience, I do not feel this facility provided the care, safety, or professionalism that residents deserve. I would strongly encourage families to look elsewhere.
