Brightstar Care Volusia County took care of our sister when we were unable to be there. We are from out of town and Brightstar did an awesome job looking after our sister. They made sure her needs were met. Someone showed up for every visit, even when things did not go as planned. They made it right. They treated our sister like one if the family. The office staff was very accommodating to her needs, very efficient, always professional, and very kind. The nursing staff was knowledgeable as well as compassionate. The service was impeccable. Thank Brightstar Care.

This place is organized one minute unorganized the next. Supportive one minute unsupportive the next. Very unprofessional and they think you're not going to find out everything... They don't listen to your wishes about your loved one. All around horrible. I do not recommend especially for your kids. Not safe!

Bonnie Daffron is my RN. And the way she takes care of me is amazing. She always greet me with a smile and very careful with me and VERY clean. She gives off a family feel. Highly recommended

I was discharged from the hospital with a PICC line and assigned to BrightStar for home care. They came out the day after I got home, but after that, they were virtually nonexistent. Any time I called with questions or concerns, I was given the runaround. They frequently missed scheduled appointments and blamed it on being unable to reach me—which is simply untrue, as all of my contact numbers go directly to my cell phone.<br><br>Most recently, they were supposed to come remove my IV and never showed up or contacted me. I suspect their lack of follow-through is partly because I live in the Palatka area, which may be considered out of the way—but that’s no excuse for subpar patient care.<br><br>If I ever require in-home care again, I will absolutely not use BrightStar. This experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and disappointing from start to finish.

About 3 weeks ago, I hired BrightStar Care to help take care of my elderly mother who cannot stand nor walk on her own. On the day of their very first shift, no one showed up. We were expecting a caregiver around 8:30 AM. At 9:10 AM, I placed a call to Anne, the person who I signed all of the paperwork with for this arrangement. At 9:30 AM I received a call from their dispatcher. She told me that the caregiver had knocked on my mom's door 3 times and that no one answered. I found this to be very odd considering my brother and I were both at her house. As well, while she was talking, I pulled up my Ring dashboard. I explained to the dispatcher that no one had come to the house. She insisted that they knocked 3 times and then left. She contacted the caregiver to see if she could "go back". She called me back to let me know that she would be there by 10:00 AM. Sometime after 10:00 AM, I sent a text to my mother's private CNA asking her to come help my mom. The BrightStar caregiver didn't arrive "back" at my mom's house until 10:58 AM. By the way, I can (obviously) prove everything I am stating here with digital evidence. The caregiver explained to my brother that she had gone to the wrong house. That, by itself, is not unforgivable. It happens. It's even something we could have all chuckled about. However, Anne called me back to apologize and explain what had happened. That conversation opened with a bald face lie. She told me that the caregiver did not have the code to the lockbox on my mom's front door. I stopped Anne right there. I was not going to be lied to. I told her that the caregiver had actually gone to the wrong house and I had video confirmation of that. I then proceeded to explain to Anne how epic this failure was. The caregiver had clear instructions to use the key in the lockbox, of which she had the combo. If the key was missing, she then had the code to open the garage door. If that was not an option, my phone number was provided as the final fail-safe. If the caregiver didn't see the lockbox or garage door pad, then why wouldn't she call me? Not to mention, at what point do you not ask yourself if you're actually at the correct house? I know that BrightStar Care is a very well intentioned company. Unfortunately for them, they have employees with very low problem solving skills / common sense. I requested that Anne have the owner or someone higher up the chain to call me regarding this incident. So far, no one has reached out. Do better BrightStar. These are our loved ones you are negligently leaving in bed without care.
