My mother was basically kicked out of this place after a few years due to her dementia progressing and we only had 2 weeks to find her a place which was not easy. We were in shock and not much communication to us that she needed more long term care. They never helped me find her another place or gave suggestions or love and support to our family which I needed so bad at that time. They are short staffed especially on weekends if your loved one needs extra help. I had many calls during late hours of the night asking me to come help my mom because they couldn’t. The administrator and head nurse shared personal information about my mother to other family members without my permission and told them and my mother she had to move to skilled nursing care before I could even tell my own mother. Trying to explain that to my loving mother who has dementia and already confused was sooo hard. I should have been the one to explain that to her not them. In the end the experience was awful, traumatizing and disrespectful to my mother and our family. I’ve waited a few years to share my honest opinion as my mother passed in 2023. I hope things have improved and better at Azalea.
