About Aveanna Home Health

Aveanna Home Health and Hospice provides home health and hospice care to clients in Milford, Delaware. The company serves patients recovering from surgery, managing chronic conditions, and in end-of-life care within their own homes.

Family experiences with Aveanna vary significantly. Some families report serious gaps in service delivery, scheduled visits that don't happen, cancellations with minimal notice, and difficulty reaching providers to confirm appointments. One family noted that physical therapy sessions fell far short of what was promised, occurring only 5 times over 7 weeks despite twice-weekly scheduling. Concerns also extend to aide conduct, with one family describing boundary-crossing behavior. However, other families highlighted notably positive experiences, praising individual therapists for thoroughness, creative problem-solving around equipment and safety, and meaningful support during post-surgical recovery.

Aveanna holds a 3.4 out of 5 stars on Google across 12 reviews. The gap between five-star and one-star ratings suggests that care quality and reliability may depend heavily on which staff members are assigned and whether families can actively manage scheduling to ensure promised services are delivered.

I received home health and physical therapy post heart surgery and they were an integral part of getting me back on my feet!

I have a family member that requires special care. This company sent an aide that in my opinion used emotional blackmail to assert control and access more time than was needed. This aide started off by inspecting every crevice of my home, going through cabinets, fridges and moving furniture to find God knows what!! She liked telling me stories about other families home condition and how disgusting it was. Bragging about how she regularly took pictures to report these families to CPS. I later found out, according to her, that she had several cases with CPS in other states where CPS took her child into their custody! For some reason she was allowed to work with pediatric patients!! She clearly understood how to build a case against someone! I could go on but She’s a terrible person abusing vulnerable families who desperately needed care. Aveanna in my opinion sent the worst of the worst. When I spoke to the front desk about my concerns it was like no big deal.

Started Aveanna on 4/22/24. Was supposed to have PT twice a week and nurse once a week. In time frame was only seen by PT 5 times in 7 weeks. Aveanna cancelled health care for my husband with one day's notice, but said we could possibly continue and referred me to a Ernest Tamajong to do an eval (look up his credentials online - not impressive at all). When I called him, he said that he would need to be the primary care - when I stated we already had a primary care doctor, he became rude and belligerent. Think this is a scam that Aveanna is running having some inexperienced person who barely speaks english to become a person's primary care - I wonder how many others were forced to change their primary care to this nurse practitioner in fear that they were going to lose home health care? When I declined his service, next day was told that the 6/22 discharge was now 6/20 and all therapy was cancelled. Called the office and spoke to someone about the situation, how my husband was still unable to walk, had wounds on his leg that were not healing, and all I was requesting is to uphold the orders made be the doctor through to 6/29. Her response: "obviously you are not listening, and I'm not going back and forth with you on this". She said would have a director contact me. Never received a phone call back. This health care is cruel to leave a patient in the condition they can obviously see, do nothing about it, and frankly this is elder abuse. Was forced to give 1 star just to allow to have this review posted and to warn everyone to stay clear of this company.

When I, as a therapist, I needed home care (instead of providing it to my patients) after an auto accident, the PT provided to me by Megan T. was awesome. After an eval by another therapist, who was thorough, Megan did ongoing treatment for a few weeks until I could get to outpatient. She ensured I had the equipment needed to be more independent, gave me suggestions for safety, gave me exercises as well as compensatory techniques that were safe. She came when planned and called ahead to ensure she could get in (I was not very mobile at the time). She not only went through what I needed then, but what I should focus on going forward. Its not easy being on the receiving side of the home health care fence, but Megan made it less frustrating, and was top notch and represented Millenium very well.

I recently had hip replacement surgery and the hospital arranged to have Millenium come to my home for physical therapy. I had to call them to find out when they'd come as they never reached out to me. In 2 weeks they only came twice and only because I called and badgered them. They kept saying I wasn't on the schedule - every time I called! I was getting little to no PT services and was basically left on my own to do 5 exercises the 2 therapists left me with. After 2 weeks I called and it was after hours but they said the on call person would get back to me shortly - guess what? No one ever called. I just gave up and had my doctor fax orders to an outpatient facility so I could get on with my healing. I would never use them or recommend them to anyone!!
