I love the people working at Genesis Healthcare - a long term care facility. Although the place is a little dated, that is minimal compared to all the good people working there and the good work they are doing. I want to explain the situation: my youngest brother (39) is seriously immobile due to a health condition that caused him to have a bilateral stroke. Which means he is unable to care for or dress himself, nor can he speak or even eat on his own. And to make thing more difficult, I live very far away (several hours of travel). The staff are my eyes and ears and they contact me about everything. And during my visits, they are even helpful with me and the family I bring along for our visits. The people at Genesis, in my view, have totally stepped it up when it comes to caring for my brother, helping him be the best he can be, and they speak up for him to ensure all his needs and care are met (even with me). I totally appreciate that his needs are first and foremost. They are all loving and kind caretakers. From the moment you are given access (this is a secured facility) you are greeted and treated with respect. The receptionist (no matter who is there - BUT a big thanks to Sandy) is helpful and guides you through any of the processes while visiting your loved one and how to navigate wherever you need to go. All the personnel are welcoming and helpful. Several personnel know me now and they let me know my brothers progress during every visit and communication. I totally appreciate the supportive environment. Genesis personnel are a blessing. I want to give a shout out to Cynthia (she has been there every time I have visited) - Great Nurse! Seeing the smiles from my brother warms my heart. They ensure that he has music playing (he loves music). He is showing progress greater than the doctor's had ever expected - he helps with putting on his clothes and bathing and with PT. Everyone tells me how sweet he is and that they love caring for him. If you are unable to visit, they have video chat opportunities. You will need to set this up at a prior time (usually you can video chat the same day). We are having great experiences with Genesis Healthcare. I feel fortunate the the staff cares as much about my brother as we do. Thank you everyone, Colleen.

I was very hesitant about sending my ex-husband and best friend to Milford Genesis. However, after learning they had a new administrator and new staffing i decided to give it a try. I couldn't be more pleased! They have been GREAT!!! PT is awesome, nurses are wonderful and food is great! Would highly recommend!

I am writing this review to let the Milford center (genesis) know that they made my short term stay very welcoming. Nothing tops one of there admissions Kelly Young she took care of me as I was upset when I arrived. She took me and made sure I was checked in properly and my stay was great! She would come in my room and open my blinds every morning and stand there talking to me about anything and everything, she didn’t have to do this but she could see I was upset to be there. She always checked on me and followed up with anything, because of her awesome character and the time we spent together made my stay better. Her office was always open to me and we would just chitchat. Also my PT and OT staff was the best Kevin always made sure I was pushing to get better and Katie would always check on me, they always made sure I was getting stronger day by day! Thank you genesis and the Milford center you will never be forgotten!

The staff at this facility is very sweet and caring. You can truly see and feel that they care about their patients. From nurses to cnas from receptionist to housekeeping and therapist to kitchen help and maintenance everyone steps up and really makes this home for the ones that are here. It's clean and enjoyable with outings and activities.

My wife was admitted to the dementia care unit at Milford Center just after Thanksgiving 2016 and is still there Christmas 2017. In that time my family and I feel the Supervisor and the staff are really outstanding. They know the special personalities of the 28 patients there and adapt the care to their needs. Dementia care takes a special kind of talent to successfully manage the nursing needs. Often the patient cannot verbalize the problems they are having. Patience with the repetitive behaviors demands a love and understanding that is unlike normal nursing care. The Director "D" is able to select out staff that can't work well in this environment. The Director will work all shifts and days to assure a consistent level of patient care. I am not sure that top management realizes what they have in this unit - it seems the new Center Director has little regard for supporting the dementia care unit. I have seen the previous director all over the facility - he was approachable and visible. The new Center Director has been there for months. I have never seen her and she has not reached out to me even after I responded to her letter. She has raised the fees and seems more concerned about dollars than patient care.
