I am a former resident of Avalon Assisted Living in Wappinger Falls, New York. It wouldn't be fair to those whom helped me get back on my own, being Living Independently again. Whom were Lillian Tingling, MedTech, Kristine Conklin and Yvonne Tucker whom were my aides. In addition to Sean Landau and Ofelia Mendoza in the kitchen, whom allowed me to help them before and after meals. I was a resident from 1/2018 - 12/2022. Thank you to all those I mentioned that help me realize my dreams of getting out.<br><br>One must accept and take ownership, and be an active participant in improving ones self, More and most importantly in creating a positive self image. I too yes was very dejected and frustrated by family that placed me at Avalon. So can definitely relate to and understand the frustrations and reasons for negative reviews. Keep in mind though. It's not the end, it is possible for some to return to Independent Living. But as a reminder, It's honestly, seriously a lot of hard work of which only a well disciplined person can accomplish.<br><br>Other people to whom made it possible for me to get back out on my Own. This facility continues to allow one of their patients to call me throughout my day at work all day and every weekend. This individual is diagnosed with Schizophrenia. Please make it STOP I have to keep my personal phone off which leaves my family unable to get a hold of me in am EMERGENCY because of this PATIENT Herbert Enzman.

Do not consider for your loved one. It is extremely difficult to find a quality Medicare approved residence , which is partly why I chose this for Mom. Over the past few years, it has simply gone down hill. The food is horrible. Staff is understaffed and rude (a few exceptions). The Administrator is unresponsive to concerns and basically taking in anyone with Medicare. My mother had an incident this week, where a resident who is not mentally fit for the home, urinated in her bed. She then pooped on floor. The staff member responsible for cleaning refused and threatened to quit. My mom had to strip her bed and flip her own mattress. The staff and administrator did not even approach my mom the next day to check on her or apologize. Her response? Good help is hard to find. Well, that starts at the top. They dont respect the residents and look at it as a business. I am getting my mother out. The administrator wont return my request for a meeting. Unsafe..<br><br>Fed sandwiches for dinner every night. dirty.

Staff is rude especially some of the aids and I made complaints to management and the woman Jackie still harasses the elderly there and some how still has her job!Send your loved ones elsewhere!Place is horrible
