About a month ago, my 82 year old husband moved from a facility in Queen Anne's County to Arcadia of Chester, MD. I was expecting a difficult transition as my husband has Alzheimers Disease--and any change is difficult. The transition has been most pleasant--and I credit everything to the caring, loving caregivers at the Chester Arcadia. They are so kind to my husband and they treat him with love and value. This has made everything go so much smoother than I expected. They truly know and understand dementia and Alzheimers. They know his triggers and how to guide him when he appears to be struggling. They never yell at him--they are all so soft spoken and gentle with him. They are aware of the residents' needs and they are skilled problem solvers. My husband had multiple falls at his last location--and he has not fallen ONCE since he's been here. The caregivers are constantly moving and they have eyes on the residents at all times. They actually sit with residents and engage with them. I have never seen anything like the way this group operates. They truly go above and beyond the call of duty. I am so grateful--especially after the last experience he had.

I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the outstanding care my mom is receiving at Arcadia. The kindness and compassion shown by the caregivers have truly made a significant difference in her life and ours. From the very first day, the caregivers have been incredibly attentive and nurturing. They go above and beyond to ensure my mom feels comfortable, respected, and loved. Their dedication and genuine concern for her well-being are evident in every interaction.

After touring Arcadia Chester, Easton and Denton II, I was able to move my father into Denton II. The staff at all three locations are very friendly and very helpful. My father is more alert, talking more and eating better since arriving. I love the atmosphere there. It feels like home. A huge thank you to Shannon Daisey for all her help. She helped make the move less stressful. I highly recommend Arcadia.

I can't say enough about the staff at Arcadia in Chester. They treated my mother with the same dignity, care, and compassion they would show their own family member. Every staff member there is a genuinely kind person. You could feel their love the moment you were welcomed at the door. They never made me feel bad for calling or coming by to see my mom. The staff went above and beyond to make my mom feel at home. When she was on hospice care, my sister and I were there day and night. We felt like part of the family as they were always checking on us. When we had to leave her side, there was no worry in our hearts. We trusted them implicitly with her care. I only wish we had found them sooner so that my mom had more time with this amazing group of women. I am eternally grateful!

My first experience with Arcadia of Chester started when I had to find a place for my father. From his arrival to his passing at 100-1/2 years, he became part of a family and was always treated with utmost respect. When I no longer could care for my husband at home, I knew where I wanted him to be. Arcadia staff accepted him with open, loving and caring arms. I visited every day for several hours and witnessed how each resident was respected, loved and provided the best care possible. The staff and management went over and above to ensure the safety and well being of each person regardless of their mental or physical abilities. It felt like home to me as well because residents’ family members are also an important focus of Arcadia’s staff and management. They are compassionate and understand how difficult it is to relinquish your loved one’s care completely to them. This was never more evident than when the time came for both my father and husband’s passings. I have never regretted my decision and would tell everyone it will be very hard to find an assisted living facility who could provide more one-on-one attention, exceptional care, upbeat atmosphere and love than Arcadia of Chester.
