The nurses and staff were amazing with my Mom. I highly recommend this facility. We had experience with short term care, physical and occupational therapy, and long term care. Everyone has always been so kind and caring. Therapy is wonderful, the nurses and aides are truly amazing. Thank you for all of the kindness and love you've shown my Mom and us as a family.

My Dad stayed here for several weeks after a lengthy stay in the hospital for acute congestive heart failure. They had a great rehab team and he said the aids were attentive. He said the food wasn't even that bad 😂. They were pretty good about communicating with me since I live out of town as well. When he had a relapse, the nurses were quick to spot and had him back in the hospital within a few hours. He left in much better shape than he arrived in. I would feel confident recommending to friends and acquaintances!

I had major surgery on my ankle. Ashley, the wound nurse has always been professional and comforting as she carefully treats multiple areas on my ankle. She has an upbeat attitude. Thank you.

My mother in law was at Altercare Kent for 15 months, we loved the nurses and staff. Amy and Erin were great to work with and took excellent care of Grace.After a long stay and some hospitalizations Grace was excited to go to an assisted living but will miss everyone that took such good care of her.

I was disappointed with Altercare Brimfield, because it has such great ratings on official care facility boards. That's why we chose it for my mother after a hospital stay. Altercare Brimfield really doesn't have trained aides who do wash ups, nor do they have occupational therapists, (unless my family wasn't lucky to see them there). They have college students who who act as go-fetchers. That was our experience, anyway. My mother stayed there for two weeks for PT and OT after a hospital stay. This was my first time dealing with a nursing facility of any kind. They would sometimes skip her physical therapy sessions. We never knew when they would come. They never came to give her a bath/wash up her whole stay. Thankfully me and my family were there daily to wash her up. She has memory issues and requires someone be there and they were very apprehensive to have a family member stay with her overnight due to her wandering. We didn't want her to fall since they only had one nurse per wing and less than trained aides. They claimed her insurance wouldn't cover her anymore despite her progress worsening. When she was discharged, my mother had another hospital stay and needed rehab again. Since Altercare Brimfield was all we knew, we requested to go back there, but they denied our request because they didn't like that one of the family members who stayed overnight to watch my mother had taken a shower in the bathroom (that wasn't being used by the bedridden roommate my mother had). To compare, the place we chose after her second hospital stay was so much better! Since this was my first nursing home experience at Altercare Brimfield, I didn't have anything to compare it to. But at the second skilled nursing facility we chose for my mother, there were trained aides and OT who helped her get washed, dressed, like clockwork every morning. They allowed us to stay overnight to make sure she was safe since she wasn't in the memory care wing, but rather the PT wing. They let family members who stayed overnight to watch my mother use the shower if they wanted in the morning ( as opposed to Altercare Brimfiled who didn't allow it). PT was everyday like clockwork! The employees and therapists were super nice. The rooms are more modern and roomy. And they wanted to keep her longer after two weeks! (in contrast to the Acute care in Brimfield who claimed our insurance didnt cover it despite my mom's progress worsening 🙄), but my mother had progreseed so well in her PT and speech therapy at the second facility, she walked out of the other facility herself. And is doing great today! They did such a great job! The second facility my mother was at is privately/individually-owned, and I think that family atmosphere makes a difference (told to me by the workers there...as opposed to Altercare Brimfield which, I'm told, is corporate owned). I made that comparison between the two because I had two totally different experiences - Altercare Brimfield being my first experience with a skilled nursing facility, and had nothing to compare it to. But I quickly learned it was VERY subpar, as I experienced how a skilled nursing facility is SUPPOSED to be ran.
