My husband arrived very dependent upon staff (trach, oxygen, tube feed and extremely confused) after a traumatic experience and over a month in the hospital bedridden and unable to assist in any way. The staff was wonderful in his care and the nurses and front office staff were always able to answer my questions (and I had many) he spent approximately 5 months here and has been able to return home with me. The social worker set up at home therapy for us before leaving as well. He is now able to walk, talk and care for himself with assistance from me. His situation of recovery is not the norm for someone who had his trauma but they will help get a patient to the highest level the patient is willing and able to get to. I recommend this facility and loved everyone who worked with him on Novitas hall.

I moved my mom here during Covington because we could come and see her at her window and talk to her basically in person. I will say the staff has always been super nice to us and are very nice to my mom even when. She isn't the nicest.. the only complaints I have are the food is not great and they need younger housekeeping staff that do more than run a half passed broom in the middle of the room....the cleanliness is atrocious. The last couple times I have been out it has been better but I know it wont last it never does.. the next time I have to say anything about it.. it wont be to anyone but the state. I would honestly move her but I know she will not do well if I do.

As an out-of-state family, we relied heavily on paperwork, recommendations, and phone conversations when choosing care for our mother-in-law at Altercare of Alliance, specifically Speret Hall. My biggest advice to other families is to physically tour any facility in person before making such an important decision. After finally visiting ourselves, we immediately felt this was not the right environment for her. The strong odor, sticky floors, overall cleanliness, and atmosphere were very concerning to our family. We also felt the level of care she was initially placed in was more restrictive than necessary for her needs. Within days, we arranged a transfer to another local facility where we felt much more comfortable with the environment and care. I hope this review encourages families to advocate for their loved ones and personally visit facilities whenever possible.

I've had many family members here, including my mom and dad at different times. The staff was always very friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. The building was kept clean and tidy. And there was always something fun for the residents planned! Altercare is a great place for your loved ones, knowing they're well taken care of!
