About Aegis Living Kirkland Waterfront

Aegis Living Kirkland Waterfront is an assisted living and memory care community in Kirkland, Washington, overlooking Lake Washington in the heart of downtown. The community is designed around an Amalfi Coast theme, featuring Mediterranean architecture, landscaped gardens, an outdoor grotto with a mosaic fountain, and warm earth-tone stucco blended with Italian hues, all while maintaining views of the water and surrounding mountains.

The community offers a continuum of care including assisted living, transitional care for early memory loss, and secured memory care in the Life's Neighborhood setting. Care services include 24-hour nursing, physical, occupational, speech, and psychiatric therapies available onsite, medication management, mobility assistance, and geriatric psychiatry. A dementia-trained care team supports residents around the clock, with visiting physicians available to reduce offsite medical trips.

More than 200 monthly programs and activities reflect both the Italian theme and local Kirkland culture, including art classes, culinary workshops with pasta- and pizza-making, TED-style talks, music therapy concerts, language lessons, lakeside walks, and excursions to galleries, farmers markets, and beaches. Dining emphasizes chef-prepared meals throughout the day, featuring Italian classics and Northwest favorites, with flexible all-day options, wood-fired pizzas, house-made pastas, wine tastings, and waterfront al fresco dining. Memory care residents receive science-based cognitive programming and certified music therapy alongside specialized, calm dining environments.

The community is located next to the Woodmark Hotel & Spa and L'Experience Paris Bakery & Café, within walking distance to Kirkland's restaurants, boutiques, galleries, and waterfront market. Nearby medical centers include Overlake and Evergreen, and the community is minutes to Bellevue and the Eastside via scenic lakeshore drives. The community offers concierge service and scheduled town car transportation for outings and appointments.

Additional amenities include a dedicated fitness studio, exercise classes, lakeshore walks, and wellness programming described as whole-person care nurturing mind, body, and spirit. The community is pet-friendly and welcomes residents' furry family members. Safety features include motion sensors, medical-alert pendants with fall detection, and discreet technology like the AUGi smart device for fall detection. Respite stays and short-term options are available, allowing residents to trial the community or providing caregivers with temporary support.

My parents reached the stage of life where keeping up with a house had simply become too much. We were determined to find a place that felt like home—not a hospital or somewhere they would just sit around. Then we found Edmonds Village, which we now lovingly call “The Resort.”

The community is vibrant, welcoming, and full of life. There is always something fun going on, from happy hours to whale-watching trips and social events. The staff is genuinely friendly, energetic, and always smiling. Their positive attitude makes such a difference and creates an environment where residents truly enjoy living.

One thing that meant so much to our family was that they provided us with a guest room so we could stay on-site while visiting our parents. That level of thoughtfulness and hospitality is rare.

Moving parents into independent living can be a difficult and emotional transition, but Edmonds Village has made it an incredibly positive experience. We are so grateful for the wonderful care, activities, and sense of community they provide. I highly recommend Edmonds Village to anyone looking for a place where their loved ones can truly thrive. ❤️

Some of the most heartless and lazy staff I've ever had the displeasure of seeing.

My mother was a resident at Aegis Kirkland Waterfront for the past two years and this became a true “home” for her. Our experience of her home, rather than her facility or simply a residence, emerged directly through the staff's tender loving care and notable respect for her. I wish I could name every single person, but the list would exceed this space. Our family began to blend more coherently with staff and services under the astute leadership of Ashley Besmehn and we are deeply appreciative. Further, Lisa Brenner’s superior nursing care and keen understanding of hospitals, rehab facilities and general healthcare, promoted my mother’s longevity and significantly enhanced her quality of life to the very end.

We are eternally grateful to each and every Aegis staff member for their every kindness and support.

I came in to visit the other day. Donna Lack was very kind and greeted me with such grace. She's made me laugh and was very happy

The tour that izzy gave me was so informative and comprehensive that it made me feel emotional and jealous that these folks get to live there where people took care of them 24/7 nearly 365 days a year
