My 82 year old mother is currently in this facility for rehab therapy for a fractured hip and femur. She is very fragile and can't walk on her own. She doesn't get timely responses when she presses the nurse button for assistance and more often than not she soils her bed & sits in it for quite a long time before an aide comes to clean her up & change her bedding. She had an incident where she had terrible diarrhea & was given 1 Imodium tablet & was then left unattended for over an hour butt naked on her commode. This type of care is absolutely unacceptable and family members will be contacting someone at the facility tomorrow to get her out of this place & back home where she can get better care. It's humiliating enough for these elderly people to have to rely on others!

My wife was admitted to Absolut in early February of '25. Her health was deteriorating rapidly due to very late stage ovarian cancer. When I first walked in a was taken back by the appearance. Didn't look like it had an update in 20 years. After a couple days I saw what type of staff worked here. I saw caring, compassionate people who completely surprised me with the attention my wife received. Not as a test but one night I had a friend volunteer to sit with my wife. On my way out I asked this tiny, tattooed aide if she would clean up and make my wife comfortable for the night. I hadn't asked but my friend commented on how well the two aides made my semi- conscious wife clean and comfortable, and what exceptional care they used. The appearance of this facility is dated. The staff is beyond wonderful. Mike in PT treated my wife so well and did nothing but encouraged her, even knowing her prognosis. The staff I cannot thank them enough. I knew what was coming, the staff did also but the care was wonderful. George Noon

My sister had Brain surgery and was shipped to two hospitals. Had a Brain bleed and swelling they did not report to her brain surgeon. Just keep saying she wasn't applying herself. Praise God for Mike and Buffy in physical therapy. Nursing care was Excellent Saved her life as God had the lead were to go. I can't say enough of the professional staff there. Best nursing home and PT !!! Prayers for our church and friends. Thank you all. She is still there but trust them with care of my lovely sister. Gasport Absolute care is very good!!!!!

I am here typing up this review with anger in my heart. My mother’s last 11 months of her life were here. She was admitted here in late 2022 and passed away on September 21, 2023, while under their care. The excuses I get is that she had many health problems. I mean yes, she was a diabetic and she had heart failure, but their treatment of her did not help things either. Causing stress to someone who has heart failure, I personally believe is abusive. Also, that it was a cardiac event that killed her further cements my belief of what their emotional abuse could have caused this. The times I would visit her I would make observations of her facial expressions. When I would ask her something like, “How are they treating you here?” Her eyes would quickly dart to the doorway before she would answer. Another incident was that she told me she felt uncomfortable when it came time to take her medications because they would rush her through them, and she would get sick and vomit. When we called up the head nurse to talk about this, they were dismissive of it. She also indicated that there was nothing in their records of her vomiting. The next problem is that we wanted her to have a phone in the room. They told us we could either bring her in an (easy to steal) cell phone or she could use the phone at the nurse’s station under the watchful eye of one of their employees. We were not happy about that and with the help of state’s ombudsman we were able to finally get them to install a phone inside her room. As the weeks and months went by, other problems popped up for her. There were times she would be left in a dirty diaper for prolonged periods of 6-8 hours. One time one of their employees told her that she, "should be ashamed of herself"because she she had soiled herself. When we would called up to complain they would respond with, “we are short staffed” as if that was an acceptable excuse. For a place that charges $15,000 a month for this standard of care is truly unacceptable. She had around 4-5 bladder infections, the last one was antibiotic resistant… that one was just before her death. There were many other issues, so many we began to keep journal entries so I would have something to show to a lawyer to see what we could do about this. Unfortunately, before I could figure out which lawyer would be best to talk to, she died. This was a month before her estimated return home in October. The evil way they treated my sister on the phone to inform her of my mother's death made it hard to keep my emotions in check while talking to them. When I called up some other employee with attitude answered, put me on hold for the more pretend empathy employee to talk to me. The reason why I am writing this review is basically because a bunch of their employees posting 5 star reviews on google to up this places rating. These reviews further cement to me that there are a lot of dishonest people working here now and possibly either the owner or management is giving them financial incentive to do this. To me, this is a new low for this place… IF you really want to know what their employees really think of them. On the google search either type, “Absolut Care of Gasport glassdoor” or “Absolut care of Gasport indeed” to read all the lovely employee reviews. The times I visited I would smell feces and urine here… to the temperatures fluctuating from cool air conditioning to 88 degrees where the facility. I personally think some head nurses should lose their licenses to practice. The owners or those in upper management should be thrown in jail for whatever kind of thing they are trying to run here. If you have a loved one or you are trying to decide where to go. My advice is to avoid this place at all costs… it will only lead to heartbreak. Empathy does not exist in this place, and it has a bunch of folks here just to collect a paycheck. Go to youtube and look up a video titled, “Happy Gilmore - You're In My World Grandma” it is the prefect depiction of some of these head nurses and their attitudes. O stars.

I'd give 0 stars if I could. The way they treated my great aunt was pathetic. This whole place needs and overall from the top to the bottom. Please DO NOT send your loved ones there unless you want they treated like garbage. I don't know anyone who has anything good to say about this place. Like I said, from the top to the bottom, these people should not be caregivers.
