Years ago Wingate used to be awesome people were great they cared they took care of my kids grandmother. About a year and a half ago had another person that was a good friend of the family there he ended up going there after he had a stroke comes out of the hospital goes to this facility they didn't give a crap about him he looked disheveled he was unable to speak he was unable to walk. He goes into this location in Highland sitting in a wheelchair halfway bench over like he was going to fall out sitting there for however long I showed up and didn't even recognize him I said how long has you been sitting there oh he's been there for a while but while these nurses are you want to call caregivers at the desk chatting away not paying mine they don't socialize with these people in their care they don't help them they don't care. They do not put safety rails on the beds for these elderly people in this facility so of course my family member fell out of the bed hit his head had to go back into the hospital again then he got removed from that nursing home got him over to Lutheran Nursing Home in LaGrange I do have to say after spending 2 months at Wingate and then not doing nothing he spent maybe two months three tops at Lutheran he came out talking they helped him get back to talking they helped him do physical therapy they worked with him daily and he was able to move not completely walked but at least somewhat move better they helped him go through his speech where you can understand him they worked with him in better words they gave a crap the nurses in Lutheran love it everybody that I dealt with there was great so I would say Lutheran in Arlington great they get a five star Wingate now known as Taconic they only have a two-star for me why because of the cute little lady when you walk in the dreaded dark building she's the one standing there so you sign in. Also you as health news is trying to say this facility had no patience that fell which is a crock

BEWARE!!! DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE! What began as a positive experience for my uncle (special-needs) ended as a nightmare during his final month at Wingate! He came home with a dislocated hip, broken front tooth, oral thrush, 30lb weight loss, and unable to walk or connect verbally to his family and two trips to the ER!! He is NOT the same happy, social, friendly and talkative person he was when he entered the facility…and all they could say is how they noticed a “change” but don’t KNOW what happened!! Total and complete negligence…Had he stayed for an additional month, he would not be here with us. They should shut this facility down permanently!! Go anywhere else but here!!!

Negative stars should be allowed. Get patient reviews. My wife went for rehab to help her mobility problems caused by parkinsons, in short, bed sores, trip to er, worse coming out then going in, multiple dr charges of $360 a pop by drs at least once a week. Only 1 dr was in network. In short don't go here.

The first day I didn’t want to be there I hated it then as the day went on I meet the staff and everyone who worked there was so very nice I was short term rehab almost 2 weeks but I could not find a bad thing to say about anyone there it was a pleasure I want to thank everyone

I spent about 2 weeks there, in 2017 following a serious auto accident. I found the staff to be attentive and involved. Some of the staff went well beyond what was necessary in addressing my needs. Food was very good . I am happy to have had a positive experience while there. Thank you.
